Take a Bus from Chicago to All State Arena to see the Dead
I'm organizing a bus from The Fifty/50 Restaurant and Bar in Chicago, located in Wicker Park at 2047 West Division, to take Deadheads to see the Dead at The Allstate Arena in Rosemont. The show is May 5th and it starts at 7:30. The bus will leave the bar at 5:30pm and will leave after the concert ends and take people back to The Fifty/50. Beer will be provided on the bus before the show. Tickets are $40 per person and bus capacity is 32, but we will rent an additional bus if necessary. Contact sweiner@thefifty50.com if interested.

If anyone could help me get
If anyone could help me get in touch with any of the kind folks mentioned below I would appreciate it gratefully. Lois from Chicago who I traveled with on phil tour and furthur in 2000. The time we spent together was very precious to me, and I treasure it greatly. There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think of you. You are a very special sister, and I love you very much. Please get in touch with me. I Miss you soooo much! Paco Kert from CA, who I last seen somewhere on the west coast, I don't remember where. Paco, I would love to hear from you bro. I saw that sister from Ashland a few times sense then, but she don’t know how to find you. Tristian from CA who I last seen in Eugene in 2001, loves to hang out in Hawaii. Wondering where your at, need to talk with you. Mia Rose who I last seen in 2004 at the Saratoga Springs Show. Mia you have always been so kind to me, you are a dear friend. I hope we can connect again. Sister Faith from CT, its been a while, have not seen you around. Hope all is good, I would love to hear from you. Poet from New Orleans, who I have not seen sense the Flagstaff incident, summer 1993. We left the Tennessee gathering and headed for Vegas, but got separated in flagstaff. I've been looking for you forever, where are you? I have heard you are still around somewhere on the west coast. I have missed you much over the years brother. Karen from the Height who I last seen summer 95. I would love to hear from you again. I’ve been wondering what ever happened to you and I hope all is well. Please get in touch with me. Sunshine Cristy who I last seen in the summer of 95, who I heard was at some time sense then living in Colorado. I miss you sister, please get in touch with me. Leah who I last seen at the Jones Beach show in 2004 and was at that time living in Tucson. Hope all is well with you, get ahold of me, I would love to hear from you. Flower from VA who I last seen after the 2004 Saratoga Springs show at the camp ground. You are the kindest brother in the world man. Your generosity that day really helped me and my family and I have never forgot. I want to see you again. Get in touch with me please. Jamie from VT also last seen after the 2004 Saratoga Springs show at the camp ground. What’s happening? Get ahold of me. Bunny Haze from TN who I haven't seen since the 94 national gathering. Where are you sister? I have missed you much over the years. Allan Thornton from AL who I ran into after several years at the Alpine further show that one year (1998?). We went to your place after you helped us out when we broke down on our way to deercreek. I would love to connect with you again. Beaver Jamie who I last seen at Shoreline in 94 after we hitched up from Venice Beach. It was deathly hot in Vegas that year so we grabbed the first ride that came which took us to Venice. Then when we finally got out of there we hitched a ride with a crazy woman who deliberately took us the wrong direction and would not stop until we got to south central LA, where she forced us to get out. We then walked to Hollywood because no bus would stop for us and we sat by the freeway for three days trying to hitch before panhandling money for a bus ticket to Santa Barbara where we found a ride to shoreline and made it in time for the show. O.T. who I traveled with from Santa Cruz to Tucson for the Gem Shows in like 94 I think. I last saw you at shoreline or calexpo when you were headed out to Hawaii. You taught me alot brother. I would love to see you again. Ken and Molly, we really really need to talk. Ken I last saw you in Michigan years ago and I told you to stop by so we could straighten things out but you never did. Man I love you guys and I hope things are good for you. Please get a hold of me. Adam from Syracuse NY, who I met on tour in 95, and Lisa who was traveling with him. We were together when we heard the news about Jerry. Both of you need to contact me. Please. Freedom Michelle from Syracuse (I Think) NY, who I met in Albany 93, and then you found me again at Nassau. We were supposed to hook up again in 94 but I never saw you. I have always wondered what happened to you. That Albany/Nassau experience was most memorable. I hope to see you again. April from Richmond VA who used to travel with Brent. I would love to hear from you sister, I hope you are well. The Sister from Maine who I met in Vegas in 93. I saw you at a Ratdog show in Portland ME in 98 (I think) and you gave me your number but I lost it, which really bummed me out. I have thought of you many many times over the years and I hope to see you again some day. I will never forget the time we spent together. Any one else not mentioned here, and there are many, names escape me, drop me a line. It is always good to hear from old family and friends. I miss you all so much. Its been almost 14 years since I've seen most of you, longer for some. My love for you has never and will not fade away. I love you all. Peace, Thomas from Michigan pyrorite@gmail.com

The rooftop of the parking garage... the Husky game... Green Lake... Best of all: lunch in South Park when the cops "caught" us. (Well it's hard to call that the "best". Hi there - I figure this is probably one of the safest places on the interwebs to post this, so here goes. I live in Philly, am a huge music lover, and I've been slowly getting turned onto the Dead over the last 6 months or so, but I don't really know where to start. For one thing, I'm overwhelmed, to say the least, by the size and scope of their output. As a longtime fan and collector of Phish (is it kosher to admit that here? j/k), I know what it means to be consumed by a band's music, to know their history and the musical tendencies of the band members backwards and forwards… but that makes it all the more frustrating for me, not knowing where to start with the Dead; there's just so much MORE, in every way. For another thing, it's all well and good for me to go to sites like deadlistening.com, or poke around archive.org, and listen to whatever I happen to find, but going it solo just seems so antithetical to the spirit of community that this band has inspired, and continues to inspire. I don't know a soul who is a Dead fan, but I really want this to be something I can share, and not just keep to myself. Simply put, I need help. I can tell that there's a universe of music here, waiting to reveal itself, but I think I need a guide of sorts to get me started. So if you're a Deadhead living in the Philadelphia area; if you're the sort of person who hears an amazing jam and wants to share it with everyone you know; if you're willing to help a new seeker make some sense of the Dead - find an entry point, so to speak - I'd love to hear from you. You can PM me here on dead.net. Thanks! -- Jon

Deadheads in Missouri? I know there's some in Kansas City besides me. I know I'm not the only one. I've liked the GD since the 80's, even though I listen to the rock station, I do love the GD. They are in my Ipod touch, and my Ipod shuffle, and in my CD player in my car. A guy named Rob, whom I used to go out with, liked them, and a was a big deadhead, and he started me on liking them.

hi everyone. I admit I am a new Dead Head - never been to a show (in fact most of them happened before I was born). But I am taking a Religion and Popular Culture class at NYU and I am writing about Dead Heads, the effect the band has had and how the culture started. I would love to hear from some of you about the experiences you've had with the band and how they have changed you! Feel free to send me a message on here or my email, maiacanter@gmail.com Thanks so much! I hope to hear from some of you soon :)

New to this site.. Searching for my birth father with little leads.. I was conceived in Eugene oregon in the summer of "79. My mother devorah met him and they were only together for a short while.. I imagine, there are many others like me, products of a free loving time:)He went by the name winddancer. I do not have his birthname.. I believe he frequented santa cruz california, not sure if he was from there or not. any leads, info or ideas will be gratefully appreciated.. He would most likely be in his late 50's to early 60's now.. I know the circle was tight back then, so I am sending this out into the universe, that there is the chance that someone may have known this man.. Thank you, Sarah

I'm looking for a web-savvy Head who is interested in partnering with me on a new GD-based site. I have 300,000-plus words of content, and need a programmer and designer to make it live. Ideally this would be someone in the Atlanta area, but could be anywhere in the US. This has commercial potential and I would expect a match to my investment (with shared profits, of course). PM me please! Steve

Some Time ago , she decided everyone around her was responsible for lost youth . she came to you confused and in need of something to fill the void ,she thought she was not loved so she asked you for the attention she desired . some of you took advantage of her niativity. for this i curse you . some day i will rain justice upon you . some of you genuinly nurtured her offering the frindship she so desperatly needed, for this i thank you . she belongs to the future now for the candle which lit her past has extinguished, we will miss her. and always hold a place for her in our hearts . if you see her tell her . you know her as gratefulgigi.I was her husband , her lover ,and her freind,my life is better for having lived by her side.

Lonesomewolf,So, so sorry. Know that gratefulgigi was so kind to me once via this space. I was lamenting wanting to locate a version of 'Lovelight" sung by Pigpen and Janis on a thread somewhere here on this site so long ago and she kindly pointed me to a version I had never heard before. I've always remembered that, and her. Strange how a small act of random kindness can stick with one and it was with great sadness I read your post. "Statements just seem vain at last....." I think some further elaboration is needed, before we should assume that our dear Gigi has departed. From her activity on her Facebook page, I am assuming that lonsesomewolf is grieving their past relationship, and not her life. I have written Gigi a message about this post, and let's all hope very hard that she responds!!18

Paps told me that Gigi was at a fest this weekend, so our hope that she is alive and well seems to be the truth. I think in this case your post is heinously rude, lonesomewolf, to get people unnecessarily worried and sad!!!!!!!!
