My First Show
My cousin took me to this show. I guess you could say The bus came by and I got on ,thats when it all began. I knew four songs. Was very confused during Drums/Space, had no clue Had a really good time in parking lot.Was totally amazed by everything. After that I worked for tickets and had A real good time! : )
Shakedown
Love the shakedown, Brent was great at doing what he does best, tickling the ivories. Great Bird Song as well.
Radbilly, about your confused during drums/space comment just remember "if you get confused listen to the music play" we have all been there before.
my fourth show
Over 15 years after my third show I grabbed the chance to extend a work trip to NYC with a flight to Philly and a Dead show. The Spectrum was a huge venue but with a surprisingly great sound. Of course the band were a very different beast to the one I'd seen last in 1974. There were perhaps fewer sparks flying but they still rolled forward with a certain style and grace that was and is unique. I really wanted to hear Terrapin Station and I got my wish. [Looking now at setlists from around this time I can see that I struck lucky] Jerry played some really searing guitar leads at time. It was definitely worth the 4am wake up call to go back to London.
Just the Beginning!
I liked this well enough, It was a nice long East Coast Tour visiting friends along the way.... I do like this one, the Birdsong is certainly respectable with lovely guitar buildup and group participation particularly spicy with Brent, my favorite psychedelic hero of the bunch.....the love I felt on some of the Little Lights and Dear Mr. Fantasy at New Years..... My goal is to listen to each show I attended on Archives.net and review them. I have to say, having a son conceived at a Dylan/Dead show is a claim to fame I am proud to have. Lohen has grown up to be a community treasure as a sound and lighting engineer from age six so 1994 brothers and sisters......Told him to tone it down once at first, but the band came up and did smackdown saying "Who is doing lights?" I said "My son, told him to tone it down....." They said "NO! We love what he's doing, keep it up!" So proud, he is at TESC getting his second degree in audio production......Thanks to all Dead Family!!!
