My Dad is 64 years old. We just found out around Valentine's Day this year, that he has a tumor in his throat that contains cancer. He's on chemo & radiation right now. It saddens me to see him losing weight and feeling weak. He has his good & bad days. Doctors say he's only got 3 years to live with treatment, of course they can be wrong. Praying for a hope! Positive vibes needed, prayers too! Thanks

My love goes out to the many here who were there for me a few moons ago. You are, and will always remain in my heart. I wish you peace love and the pursuit of happiness. The human spirit is most powerful, and those who trust in it are those that blossom by it. A very belated thank you to some of the most beautiful people on the planet. love,pk

That spammers will even post in a thread where we're vilifying them. I think that this one is especially egregious, given the theme of the thread and the spammer's solicitation for our prayers! That is just about as low as you can get. Isn't it? Time for Marye to break out the flamethrower, once again...

Hey everyone,We've moved back to Alabama, and things have been hectic as all get out. I'm looking for work now, and we are just scraping by. Any positive vibes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for your support over the years. Everytime I take a hiatus it takes me a while to get back on here, but I've been thinking about you guys. I'll be on here more now that the ice is once again broken. Much love and positive vibes to all those in need. Hozomeen

oh, johnman.i wondered where you'd been; i was just going to PM you as well as ask others what was happening. I guess you were up to your necks in bullshit. i'm so sorry. being stuck here in England i can't even help you out with storage or a place to stay or company and a beer shared. all i can offer is that you're both in my thoughts every day. the world can look like an unfriendly mother sometimes but ya got to keep on keepin' on; no one can evict memories and all the good times that have been had within those walls. those are yours forever. if you've lost anything like music i can burn you some stuff and post to you both free of charge when you get a new address. i'm afraid money is crazily tight as i'm about to move to Japan so all i can offer is some sounds and plain ol' good vibrations. anytime you want to rant or just plain drunkenly get things off ya chest then message me, buddy. don't think twice; you'll always have a willing ear here. a crying shame and i'm a thinkin' of you.

Things will work out...I have faith. They will store my property for up to 30 days...on the premises. I must contact the broker to gain entry. right this minute I am waiting for the bank rep and the Sheriff's Deputy. I spoke with the deputy last week, he was kind enough to come buy, give me fair warning, and let me know what the procedures were. Nice guy, we talked for a bit. He was a patrol type until recently. He's glad to be off the street where he's safer, but really hates the new job (evictions). I just have to keep praying..!!

I hope you stay connected with the community that knows you a and your family, if it is possible, It seems like you are nurtured spiritually in that area also with your regular church-going. As you do for others, may others do for you. As you've served your country well, do not be shy about using to social safety net. Do what you need to do to ne safe and healthy. Keep the dark thought s at bay.. This, too, shall pass and you shall find a better way through the black and bloody mire, you're just a saint of circumstance. Always remember and never give up hope. According to TLilly, Marye was supposed to put it up yesterday. I'm ready to give a little something as I'm sure many others are. Of course, Johnman should sign off on this as something he wants before it comes to fruition. Lots of bad stuff in the world gets lots of attention (or not when it should). But right now in the NE US, lots of folks are still suffering from the effects of Irene, mostly flooding. A number of people lost their lives so please send blessings for their souls. There are many more who have lost all their personal belongings, especially their homes. While "things" can always be replaced, the upset to life for these people, many of them my friends, including many family farmers who have lost their crops and their livestock, has been terrible. Please send your vibes, prayers and thoughts to those sisters and brothers in need in Upstate New York, Vermont, etc as they try to rebuild their lives. If you can spare a little extra then please donate to your favorite charity that can provide assistance to folks up here. Thanks all!

as are everyone of you kind souls and your "chip-in" idea...I'm a big baby, at heart and the love here is making me cry all over again. It's like, i wanna say no, as there are more deserving people out there...like the hurricaine (sp?) victims. for instance...but i won't refuse any help...gotta go...

You don't need a pay-pal account. You can do it "card not present" through an app that sets up through your I-phone. The app. piggy-backs on another, larger merchant. We have to find somebody that we trust for CC#s to go through. Big responsibility, that one. Alternatively, there is the old-fashioned way, which I am more inclined to do. Does Johnman have a forwarding address that we can snail mail contributions to? Are you willing to give it in this thread?

whatever you have been doing seems to be working because he is making a so far remarkable recovery from an aneurism. Apparently he is he's up & eating talking & walking. Many of you may know of John from his many circulating audience recordings of the Grateful Dead and other bands. This info comes from the Eurotraders list where John has many friends.

to receive checks, donations, etc? I will if no-one else will, but I think that it's better if it's someone in the States. Someone who is trustworthy, of course! I guess the next thing I can try is setting up an online bank-account. That could receive donations, and that Johnman also has access to. Sorry for my delay-have gotten into a bit of a dilemma with my daughter being stuck away from home due to a train strike ********************************** I am not young enough to know everything. Yeah, that's an idea but I think the Paypal scheme would be better; it's free and really simple to open an account. Or alternatively, as lamagonzo mentioned; maybe check with johnman if there's a forwarding address and then send cheques/money. Makes it a bit harder for the European folks but opening a bank account seems like more hassle. A Paypal account takes seconds. Also easier to access it or change payment etc. johnman then can transfer the money from Paypal to his bank account in seconds. Of course, johnman would need to have a Paypal account too but i'm sure that wouldn't be a problem for him. Hope your daughter is okay! Or has she made that up so she can stay out and party?!!

...it would be simpler and Paypal won't rake off their 3%. He said he could get us an address. I understand where it might be harder for Europeans but I'm sure a bank account can handle foreign checks or postal money orders the same way the American ones do. If he doesn't want a bank account then sending just money orders sounds like the plan, IMO,
