    Thanks for doing the heavy lifting and getting us some info on what's up with the "Limbo" of missing Dave's 36. Regarding the Great Vault Robbery: That could be a really cool off-beat movie or sketch comedy like say Sean of the Dead. Imagine Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure meets Harold and Kumar with special guest appearances by Cheech and Chong like Ocean's Eleven. They team up to free the tapes from the vault. Awesome, totally awesome!!! Jeff Spicoli? An all star cast! Who else can we get?

    I smell franchise bucks$$$$$ -- and reefer.

    I sent an email to the good doctor a couple days ago.. Something is stuck. They must be pissed about my making a tunnel under the vault and freeing the reels comments.

    There is a very good chance there is a giant warehouse snafu and they are scratching wondering what the hell to do...

    Don’t mind waiting,...can’t stand not knowing if it’s even gonna show up!
    So how long is it appropriate to wait before pestering Mary? As I say, I don’t mind the wait, just don’t want to wait my way outta getting it.

    I'm still not clear whether Healy's manipulation of the crowd volume is the final product, or if there was further adjustment during final production. That's my only real gripe about this release.
    I truly love the content of these discs, and the highlights for me are Mighty Quinn, and Jerry's geetar playing during the first set of 3/27.

    Ultra Matrix, Matrix SBD, or what?

    We kinda beat this horse a couple of weeks ago, and not sure if we'll ever get a definitive answer. Gary's post today got me to poking around some more. I found out that Donald Pearson was actually a sound engineer for the Grateful Dead (among others). Also, the sources cited for "soundboard" recordings for 3/26 and 3/27 on the Archive all indicate "Ultra Matrix" (Charlie Miller uses the term "Matrix Soundboard" a couple of times). And I can't remember who posted the link to Rob Eaton's comment (Thanks again!), but he seems to bring the confusion into better focus:

    Rob Eaton: "Let me clarify a point on the Ultra Matrix Tapes that started in late 86. There was a pair of AKG 414s mounted in the front of the board on a rail that allowed the pair to move left or right depending on the center position. After these mics were plugged into the Ultra Box they created a 3D audience image. The SBD or Healy’s mix also ran into the Ultra Box. There was a delay control for the SBD feed to time-align it with the M/S [AUD] mics. Each “room” was different, but at 200 feet, the time difference is measurable. There was also a control for the blend between the 2 sources. The early ultra mixes were 50/50. They eventually ended up with more of a 70/30 ratio… Hope that helps."     Having arrived in the UK on 7th November, my DaP #36 has arrived at my house. I don’t think that they walked from Heathrow to Merseyside but they could have done in that time. No demand for money either which means I‘ve had two this year without paying any extra. Should be able to listen to it early next week.

    B the K - I just love how strong Dylan and his pickup band cut into that “Maggie’s Farm” from Newport! Reminds me of his on stage banter with the heckler in Manchester, who had called Dylan “Judas!!”, to which Dylan responded by turning to the Band, telling them to “Play It Phucing Loud!”, leading to the most raucous version of “Rolling Stone”!
    I’ve seen Dylan umpteen times, and the most he ever spoke while I attended was a quick remark in Syracuse about the passing of Walter Cronkite. Sometimes, the music does all the talking, like Newport.

    Marin, Villiage Music was a great store, if you go to their website it looks like you can still make appointments to visit their wharehouse. Checkout the list of people who have visited the store over the years, it's amazing. I've never been to Rancho Nicasio, but I've heard of it, bbq on the lawn , that's right up my alley. I really don't go anywhere anymore, except the grocery store or the post office, because of the virus.. Speaking of bbq , we used to go to Everette & Jones over in Berkeley on San Pablo ave, they have some good bbq. I used to go there after seeing the Dead at the Greek. We used to go to the original Freight & Salvage on San Pablo ave to see , Peter Rowan, Frank Wakefield & David Nelson, John Fahey, Kate Wolf, lots of different musicians, afterward we would go down the street to get bbq at Everette & Jones at 1am , good times. Down Home Music in El Cerrito is a good record store. You mentioned The Sons of Champlin & Asleep at the Wheel, those are two great bands.

Urdu is a language predominantly spoken by muslims whose holy day is Friday. I don't know for sure but I suspect this could have a detrimental impact on Black Friday shopping sprees.

Great prices, be sure to read the fine print though.. shipping from Rawalpindi and Islamabad can be a real budget breaker.

Give these folks some credit for understanding and leveraging a deadheads strong passion for cleanliness and personal hygiene. Marketing geniuses to be sure, once they figure out the subtleties of matching the countries they advertise in with the languages commonly spoken in these countries, they are sure to dominate the global automatic bathroom market. Business tycoons in the making and a great stock tip to help your 401k, you heard it first here at dead.net, watch and learn Jim Cramer.

What's the best show to listen to when contemplating the finer points of bathroom automation? Binghamton perhaps, a little over an hours drive from Bath NY. Four shows played in Binghamton from 1970 to 1983.

Speaking of automated toilets...in many of the mansions we work in there are automatic toilets, some costing thousands of dollars. The GCs generally don’t let us riffraff use the toilets, especially the expensive automated ones. So my old working partner had this thing about poaching toilets, especially if specifically told not to do so lol.
He became quite adept at it including the use of let’s say the worlds greatest female skiers master bath LOL (can’t name names due to NDAs etc)

Has anyone else gotten their copy of GarciaLive 15? I got mine about a week ago. Someone asked how I got so soon, no idea. Then today I got an email say it will mailed in 9 day!?!?! Odd?

Update on the download front for AB - Angel Share. Still no word!

BTW - Garcia Live 15 is alright. The Keystone Korner Jam was very nice. Has Martin Fierro on sax on several cuts, I always enjoy when he sits in.

If I don't type again till after Bird-Day, hope everyone has a good one. Got 25 lbs of young tom waiting to be rubbed and baked, followed by a good basting and baking of said cook.

Funny you mention about Garcia 15, I was wondering the same thing. I’m glad you got yours. Nothing here, but tracking said mine just left New Jersey, and as I’m in the Toronto area, it will sit at customs until it is Garcia 17. Looking forward to it, the two tunes I’ve heard were incredible. The Garcia family has done a great job on this series, offering up stellar shows (but I liked the Pure Jerry series too)!

Hi All,

Still no DP36 for me in California. I have contacted the customer service twice and they said they would get something shipped out from warehouse, but it has been almost two weeks and no notice of a new shipment. This one hasn't gone down well for me.

Does anyone know if there is still a Dr Rhino? Can someone share contact email for Dr Rhino?
Feeling like that is the next step. Customer service calls don't seem to be getting me anywhere.

Did other people who were still waiting a week or two ago in US get their cds ?

U.S.P.S. tracking had my Dav36 on 10/30 at a post office in The Bronx N.Y. -- where I live. And then. . .. nothing for weeks! No information was updated during those weeks. It finally arrived 11/17 without a delivery notification email alert. I see you are in California and Daves are routed through Carlsbad Ca. Go figure? Good luck!

At some point Thanksgiving morning, our boys now always ask about when we're going to listen to Alice's Restaurant. Makes me proud.

Here in the Twin Cities we have a group of musicians who re-create most of The Last Waltz live each year. They dress up and do all the stage banter and it's great fun. They used to do it Thanksgiving weekend, but more recently they've moved it to other times of the year, when folks aren't out of town.

Contacted the store about three times now with the same automated response after they had to replace my original order. If I ever see the light of day with this package that would make my year but seriously just so disappointing to see this from Warner Music >:(. Otherwise, very grateful for everything and everyone on here, y'all rock! :)
