    Fuzzy Philly
This was a big road trip for my friend Tom and me, from NH. We stayed with another Tom who lived there. Where is he now? My memory of this one is fuzzy but I know I dug it.

    one of the BEST
this was an incredible night.got to sit on the stage behind Billy K's drums. an early Red Rooster He's Gone was for Keith (I think). I was asked at the break what I'd like to hear them open set 2 with...without really thinking about it, I replied "The Greatest Story Ever Told", (because I had never heard them play it & I like the song), & I'll be DAMNED if they didn't come back out & PLAY IT. It was a band photographer that I was briefly talking to & it was him that asked me what I wanted to hear. Must have been Bob Minkin but I really cannot remember his name. I was amazed they played it...AND...it really SMOKES. Give this show a serious listen, it is seriously underrated & deserves attention. They were on FIRE the whole night. What a memory this is for me, to be on the stage & hear the monitor sound. It actually spoiled me & no PA system has ever come close to THAT sound quality. It was really amazing to be so close & hear it like that. I sat next to a young girl who said Phil was her uncle & she had to sneak out to go to the show because her parents didn't want her hanging around the band. Later, after it was over, Phil came over for a minute & spoke with her but I didn't interrupt. Just left & looked all around backstage before leaving to go back to the hotel because we were there for the next night too. Was on the floor, 5th row for the 30th. It was a fun time in Philly & I got the thrill of a lifetime on this Friday night.
