Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, not Port Chester, NY
If my memory serves me well, this was my second show and a disappointment. The Dancin' was like it straight from the album. Much, much less inspired and bouncy than the Dancin' at the same venue the prior year. The capitol theatre was basically a hanger style venue - straight back, no levels, just a break for a walkway in the middle. Very tight in the lobby and strick as far as smoking. It was owned, I believe, by John Scheer, the east coast promoter for the band and a little troll like character who like to get on stage to introduce the band. The FM broadcast of the next night's show made this night even more dissappointing for me as the second set opened with an Estimated, and included a dynamite Scarlet>Fire>Good Lovin's triad and a set closing Terrapin>Morning Dew. I think there was a High Time in there too. Missed it by one night. Fortunately, it would be a long time before they dissappointed me again.
future release of b&w video of this show?
Is there any possibility that the black and white pro shot videos of this show or 4-27-77 will ever "officially" surface in all their remastered glory? the boys were on for this run and jerry is quite animated...always a nice sight! be well....
