Week of March 13-19, 2023
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out three shows from Alpine Valley, in 1985, 1988, and 1989.
Our first stop this week is the end of the show on 6/22/85, the second night of a two night run that opened the summer tour of 1985, featuring Dear Mr. Fantasy > I Need A Miracle > Stella Blue > Throwing Stones > Not Fade Away, Brokedown Palace.
Next is the start of the second set from the Dead’s first night of a four night run, on 6/19/88, featuring the first performance of Foolish Heart followed by a couple of classics: Foolish Heart ; Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band.
Lastly this week is the second set opening sequence from 7/19/89 featuring China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider, Playing In The Band> Uncle John's Band> Standing On The Moon.
Be sure to come back next week for more music from the vault.

The 1989 show is 1989-07-17 and not 1989-07-19, but still from Alpine Valley.
