I'm using safari on an iPad mini (first version). When I'm in the forums section, the blue box that surrounds the word "forums" at the top covers up the yellow username and chat buttons that are at the top left rendering them inaccessible. In general, web pages that treat all the different sections as independent "objects" from each other are almost impossible to create and maintain (or at least do it well) because of all the different resolutions, aspect ratios, etc. For instance, no matter what browser you're using, try using whatever built-in feature exists to magnify the web page for easier reading. See? The various objects behave independently and overlap each other rendering them unusable. Even without magnification, it will never work perfectly on all devices, maximized and/or not maximized, all resolutions, etc. So, unless there is truly additional functionality that is gained that could not be done with traditional web page design, it's just for aesthetics - which is nice, but not worth losing functionality over. In any case, even it got perfected so it works right in all environments, it will always be orders of magnitude harder to KEEP it that way through all the changes and updates that will always be happening. In any case, I really do appreciate all the work and time that must have gone into it, and I thank the folks at dead.net for that, seriously. But, unless there is actual functionality that people want that can't be done without using the independent objects technique, then it really ought to go back to a traditionally designed page. There's lots of cool design work that can be done even within that limitation. And, it would work right for everybody all the time.

It happens to me on my smaller screen laptop. When I move to my larger screened desktop, it works fine. Will not work on my laptop if maximized. Minimized it works fine. Win 7/IE 11 on both systems.

I am using windows 7. Also tried in both IE and Chrome browsers. I discovered it works if you maximize the browser window. My impression as a previous web designer is the hotspots overlap and the second row of buttons overlaps the smaller top row of buttons. But again, when I maximized the window it works. Thanks!

I found some in my mailbox. They had set up shop between the main plank and a shim underneath. The mailman kept looking at me sideways and (I had the feeling) skipping me 'til I replaced the box. He said I 'must really like my old one'. Boy, those things really gave me the creepy crawlies.*update* The dang bugs are still in there even after replacing the board and box. They must have set up shop in the post. I seem to have the opposite of the Midas touch lately; whatever I touch turns to poo. *yet another update* No sign of the bugs after caulking the holes manufactured as part of the design of the box. Thank god, those things were freaking me out.

Right now, the Store is not working, which is one reason we're not really open yet. With luck this is a short term problem. Thanks!

How 'bout those breadcrumbs!? Up there at the top of your screen when you're checking out the comments in a Topic... For now, Beta-Head friends, please use the Table of Contents or your own back arrows to back-navigate. Thanks muchly. iz

Techno-geek husband says the breadcrumbs might be a Drupal bug... he & his website building buds think Drupal is great for large websites like this but they don't use it cause it is too complicated for their stuff... (if you ask me what I just said, I will shake my head and look completely confused)

On the contrary! Drupal is perfect for smaller sites. It's free, highly customizable, a rubust open-source community offering support, and it's very easy to get a basic functioning site with no programming experience necessary.

If it's any consolation, I had the same problem at my Well address and my yoyow address, but when I set up a gmail account it worked like a champ. We are not entirely sure why this is, but thank you google.

When will it finally be up and running? It appeared to work and complete my transaction on 6/5. However, at least in my case, it wouldn't allow me download the flac files (that I thought I purchased). If the store doesn't work properly, please make it obvious. So, we won't be frustrated. Thanks.

I somehow accidentally posted the same post twice and I don't think it looks very nice. Maybe someone can do it for me, if I am not permitted. No editing, I found preview to help, except that is how I got in trouble and posted twice, 'cause I skipped the edit that time and thought I needed to hit another button... Aahhh I tend to be so button happy (sorry.) How do you post in links I can only get really simple html to work?

Tried accessing Greatful Dead (GDM) 1997 and was denied access. Is this normal or am I not following proper course of action. Was very interested in the Allman's concert recording. Thanks.

For some reason, I am unable to get to my private mailbox to see the "private message" awaiting me. Instructions can be sent to staggerleib@yahoo.com, but I would have thought that simply authenticating to my approved account would give me access to that area. The site looks great, and I'm loving the taper section particularly. All the best- Buzz

I dont know where else to post this, but I have an issue that needs to be brought to someones attention. On June 21st, I ordered 3 cds from the store. On June 23rd I got an email saying that the order went through and that the order was shipped and that my credit card was charged. I waited until July 13th and sent an email saying that I still had not received my order. I did not get a response, so I sent another email on July 18th. On the 19th I got an email saying that they had a problem with my address and that I should call them to resolve it. Well since I live in Singaopore, I didn't call them, but I emailed them back asking what the problem with the address was. I did not hear anything back so I emailed them back on July 27th asking for some resolution. The same day I got an email saying that "We are unable to ship to AP address's, I apologize. Is there any where else that you could possibly have this order shipped? Thanks!" I emailed them back and copied and pasted from thier webiste that says that they DO ship to APO/FPO addresses "This is copied from your webpage... http://www.dead.net/shopping-shipping Shipping and Handling Information Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for delivery, although orders will likely arrive sooner. For orders outside of the USA, delivery time may vary depending on your delivery area. Orders are processed in the order received. If you are shipping to an Army Post Office (APO) and Fleet Post Office (FPO) please select "Ground" and you will be charged the standard fee for ground shipping, but will really receive your package via USPS." I emailed again on August 4th and again today and have not gotten any response back. Meanwhile I owe $71.86 on my credit card. I have never had any problems before ordering from Dead.net. This really sucks. Izzie or Marye please look into this if you can. I dont want to have to resort to asking my buddies to make copies of thier CD's for me.

Still no response from Dead Net about my order. I hope whoever took my $71.86 enjoyed it. This is the first time I ever got ripped off by the Dead's merchadise organization. I will never order through them again. I guess it's time to get my new releases via bit torrent sites.

something you're doing is getting the spam filter very excited and sending all your responses into the spam queue. As many can attest, it does this from time to time. I've gone in and straightened things out, I think, but lemme know if something's not right.

being reported as well. might want to ask your developers about potential for redundant SessionContexts. Also might consider checkpoint, back up and bounce the database. Maybe bounce the app server as well. Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

apparently some maintenance work on the big computer in the sky had unexpected ripple (er, tsunami) effects in our part of the world, but it appears to be diagnosed and straightened out. You're right Bob, that feature has disappeared! I'll pass this on. I think the duplicate user thing was probably related to the system thrashing, but if you keep encountering it speak up!

The site is acting very strange lately - I see you took the chat room down, due to the way it was acting - but now, sometimes when I log on, there is no message - so I log on again, successfully - and see I'm listed twice. If i try to go to the chatroom, it says it's offline - but I show as not logged in. If I hit the back button, I am shown as logged in. It looks like alot of users are showing up as logged in multiple times. - not sure what's going on there.

I talked to 4 customer service reps for the GD store and I regret to say they where full of fail. All they did was repeat my order to me and told me they cant help me for 4 days. All the time. Started about 6 weeks ago. No changes on my side. All other sites are same speed. Took about a minute for this page to load.Ok to e-mail direct ejjd@aol.com since it took me 5 min to check my mail box and then get to this page. Thanks very much Ed I have also deleted a lot of my mail so thats not an issue

I've reported this too, and indeed the pages do seem to be taking a long time to load. This is probably somewhat related to the fact that I'm using the 50 comments per page option, but still.

Mayre: My saved settings won't. This is particularly true at the RatDog section maybe because that's the only place I go, currently. If I select "date-newest first" then change the view (ie."flat list-collasped), the "date-newest first" setting is lost and vice-versa etc. Is it or my computer? Thanks, Roger
