Whom made this artwork originally on my profile photo please?
Could you know more about my profile photo? Whom made it originally, and holds copyrights, or sold this work individually speaking, or was it even offered for sale?Any help could be GRATEFULLY Appreciated.

just go to the What Else Should We Be Talking About? topic and post there. Or do what's currently happening in the Deadheads, Religion and Spirituality topic, start brainstorming a secular version with folks who think there's a need for one, and when it jells we'll launch it.

What IS IT with the Grateful Dead?
I just clicked on the almanac and went to comics and saw the images coming from Hunter's "Rosemary". Ye Gods! That was not funny. I'd never really listened to those lyrics before and even as I listened to the song (they have that feature now) the lyrics were hard to make out. If the Grateful Dead were really singing songs for those who have passed away (with Hunter & Barlow making up the words) then they were also riffing on ghosts, as Rosemary seemed to be some watery image from a goth H.P. Lovecraft novel. It's still sending shivers up and down my spine. Yikes, this might be enough to scare me away forever!

I see that at least one person posted earlier about the Show By Year problem ... um, couldja fix it already? The Show by Year on Deadnet is (or was) a great resource -- very user friendly, easy to search, a great quick "go-to" reference. But now, unless you're looking up, oh, '66 or '67, it's a serious pain. Not even really usable unless you feel like playing Click-on-a-Page Roulette. It's got to be a glitch, and not an intentional "Improvement" (I hope I hope), so I have the feeling that some techie at Deadnet WOULD know how to put it back, if someone would just ask nicely. So, pretty please? :-)

well, normally this site isn't for third-party

Hello I am wondering if I could get help on an order for a shirt that I placed a month ago. I bought this as a Christmas present, but the site won't accept my information to find out where it is? I sent in an inquiry and I received an automated email telling me to do the same thing that I have been trying to do with no help.

It's there on the show page. Search on Deer Creek in top right. Make sure you are logged in and you can mark as attended there.

Hoping helping... :-) :-) :-)

I'd like to know why the support for the store is MIA. Has anyone else had this issue? I purchased the American Beauty 50th so I could have the 2/18/71 show. The FLAC download has a corrupted cutoff GDTRFB and it's missing the NFA Pt. 2 and Uncle John's. I've reached out to support but they are MIA. Any ideas how to get ahold of them?

Hello, I'm sorry if this is off your topic but maybe you can help. I have written a nice book about the music from the early Brent Mydland years of the Grateful Dead, about 400 pages. I want to get permission to use a certain image on the cover, and to use a certain lyric for the title. Do you happen to know who I should be in touch with about this project? Thanks! --Ryan Bouchard

Many years ago I found 2 more verses and a bridge/chorus(?) posted online for Uncle John's Band. The source was alleged to be an acoustic set Jerry did at a small club (The Matrix?).
One verse starts with: "Why wait in the dark for dawn when the sun's still going down?"
Another starts with: "Would you carry me uphill, back the way I carried you?"
I don't want to post the full verses since I can't vouch for their authenticity.

Has anyone ever heard recordings of these verses? Any more info on them?

I would see what the Grateful Dead Annotated Lyrics had to say on the subject.

The manuscript version of the song includes these lines: Why wait in the dark for dawn / (while) when the sun's still going down?/ Maybe I'll dust off your chair/ If you say you're comin' 'round... There's more. Thanks, Wahrlock, and it's never a bad day to dive into the annotated lyrics...

Thank you for turning a long term frown into a smile! I have loved you since I touched your foot at the Garden Pier in AC & I am so happy you found the beautiful love of your life, your lovely children & that you got to got to have such a wonderful family. And I’m also very happy that you were able to meet and fill the great relationship with your biological father, something we were never allowed to do because that was a bad man within my mother died while I was in college, both of them very young and unexpectedly so many different. I hope you don’t mind, but I need to see if you have a source that could help me both my husband and I were born with congenital birth defect, mine left me permanently, disabled at only 34. Then hurricane Sandy was it a direct hit to us as a full strength, hurricane, and we were not allowed to live in our home for eight years a week after that we were diagnosed with hereditary autoimmune diseases and our doctors this time absolutely forbid us from going back to work outside the home as we have no immune system. For the last 14 years, we’ve both been struggling very hard at our small office assistance or badly struggling due to all this. We are in foreclosure on our home. I am not writing this to ask you for a handout but just for source or sources. I have an idea about a book card like to write about the Grateful Dead and I need someone who can help me find the sources and even corroborate Either as a co-author or anything that they would like to be called. I hope and pray you see this message and you can point me in the right direction so we don’t lose our home that my husband spent eight years in his blood. Sweat and tears rebuilding because that would devastate us both. Thank you Bobby and God bless you and your beautiful family.

Hi Mary, I wonder if you could help me. I am a long time subscriber to Dave's Picks. However, I am moving to a new address in February 2024. How do I update the address so that my Picks will come to my new address. Thank you.

I haven’t heard a Sugaree jam during regular programming on Sirius XM 23 for a long time; perhaps longer than a year (i listen frequently during the day). Is there a reason for this?

Hi Marye,

What happened to the Dead Covers Project? I was thinking of submitting some songs, but I can’t find it anywhere in the last call for submissions was in 2023. Is it still happening?

Hi Mary - I believe I was the Dan from Richmond CA who won the 11/1 30 Days of Dead contest, but didn't receive an email about it. Can you check to see why I didn't get an email. My email is dhisey11 at gmail.com. Thanks!

Yesterday's selection was 11-22-72 Austin Municipal Auditorium which was completely easy after a poster entered some totally obvious hints about his brother, blah, blah. I didn't even have to hear it it was so obvious and the timing matched.
The email comes later for the winners, supposedly. Some past calendar winners said it took "a couple of weeks".
The past days can be viewed individually. Just enter 30 days into the search field (top right near sign in drop down) and lots of days show up in a sort of random order. Or at least they were coming up this morning which is how I got to yesterdays winner and folks are still posting their goodbyes there too.
From what I've read in past year's comments the grand prize winner is not announced anywhere. One guy said he won but never got the prize and when he questioned the powers that be about it some time later they sent him some other swag instead. Well, we're all old hippies so I don't expect them to be overly organized, lol.
If you have other questions I would PM MARYE (site admin.)
Cheers
