Week of February 12-18, 2024
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1974, 1989, and 1991.
Our first stop this week is the Chicago show featuring the Wall Of Sound on 7/25/74, where we have some great first set songs: Loose Lucy ; Black Throated Wind ; Loser ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Sugaree ; Mexicali Blues.
From 15 years later on 8/4/89 at Cal Expo in Sacramento, we have this excellent and unique second set opening sequence of Truckin' > Wang Dang Doodle > Crazy Fingers > Cumberland Blues > Eyes Of The World.
Lastly this week, also from Cal Expo, from 5/5/91 we have the start of the second set featuring Eyes Of The World>Man Smart (Woman Smarter) ; Ship Of Fools ; Truckin'>Terrapin Station.
Be sure to join us next week for more tunes from the vault.

Cal Expo Cinco De Mayo '91
Nice Spanish Jam between the listed Truckin' > Terrapin. Appropriate! And the post-Terrapin Jam is sweet with Vince shining.
Hmmm,
1991-05-05 no biggie with some lyrical quandaries, got to truckin' and then moved-on, sensed a void w/out BRUCE; 1974-07-25 chi-town is #3 on my playlist for late next week, so will pass on commenting until my FULL-MONTY listening adventure has concluded [Oh DAVE, you thinkin' about adding this into a '74 BOX? please remember 6-20-74]
Low Hanging 72-74 fruit
9/11/73 9/28/72 7/16/72 6/20/74 6/8/74 also 9/23/73 & 9/24/72 !
Nice Nug!
Crazy Fingers and Eyes are fantastic!
I didn't know this show (or a lot of unreleased 89) very nice!
