    Big Deals

I must say, the best "Deals" are the ones that come with the bonus guitar solo & jams at the end!

Week of May 27-June 2, 2024

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week have Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1981, and 1986.

Our first stop this week is on 7/3/69 in Colorado Springs, where we have a trio of era-specific songs, the first and third sung by Pigpen: Hard To Handle ; He Was A Friend Of Mine ; Turn On Your Lovelight.

Next is the five song sequence that ended the first set on 7/7/81 in Kansas City, all of which came from Bob’s and Jerry’s solo records: Lazy Lightnin' > Supplication ; Bird Song > Looks Like Rain> Deal.

Lastly this week is the end of the Dead’s show on 7/6/86 at RFK Stadium, where we have Space>Stella Blue>Throwing Stones>Not Fade Away, Brokedown Palace.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
