    Another Hartford Show...

okay i know you released a lot of hartford, ct shows, but i got another one. i might sound bias because i am from and live in ct, but you got to admit the dead always did play well in hartford. this show is hot, and very tight. the setlist is very fine, and they play and sound good. i think it will make a great dave's pick down the road. the show is very complete with a lot of fan favorites. check it out, there are some very good reviews of the show out there. thanks for listening...

What an incredible show. Best concert of the Dead or any other bank I ever saw. I don't udnerstand why Dick's Picks or someone else hasn't turned this into a CD for sale. They were on fire that night and the list is ridiculous. And Levon Helm lead off for them, which was pretty incredible in it's own right.

i know you released a lot of 78 shows, but i stumbled upon this show and it has an amazing smokin 14 minute sugaree to open the show. the rest of the show isn't that bad either, great set of song selection and good sound quality, and i know you love the year 1978, dave...

    Hey Dave,
Call me retarded, but I still can't wrap my head around Philly 84' or W&M 78' being worthy of release. Are you stringing us along to spread out releases for 20 years? What next a Vinnie show 90-95?

Time to get real a majority of your buyers grew up on 80's Dead. C'mon give us the hot stuff! Start with Starlight 82' and make it sound alive, like a Miller mix.

Stop with 78' the year sucks. Worcester 83' may be best show of year, but what an awful mix. How about 2nd best show of sucking year 83'?

Are you catering to Tour Heads or just fooling us. If you need help picking shows I am available.

Starlight 82' instead of another throw away release.

Also this B,.S. about I don't care about Set lists, I care how they play. Well Merryweather 84' beats the heck out of Philly 84'.

Dave, are you an actual Head or just a talking head?

    Not a particular show, but a Dave's Picks prediction. 2020 saw '77, '74, '84, and two '87s. 2021 has '78 and '73 so far. I predict Dave's Picks #39 will be a '60s show and Dave's Picks #40 will be a '90s show. BTW, thanks for 3 '80s shows last year....I really mean it!

There are a lot of shows that I'd like to see released, but, for the reasons you mention, this is one I think would be a top-10 in the Dave's series. The Comes A Time has only a few rivals, all from around the show's date, including 12/05. And the 2nd set odyssey, capped by a stomping Saturday Night (I particularly love the pre-encore Dead Air - it's gotta be part of the release) would be something I think Deadheads would really appreciate. One day...

12/10/71 Fox Theatre, St. Louis. Extremely solid and well played like everything else from this period. Comes A Time may just be the most absolutely perfect early version, but the jam with Truckin' > The Other One > Drums > Sitting On Top of The World is some of the finest Grateful Dead music one will ever hear.

11/11/70 46th Street Rock Palace in Brooklyn. Wednesday night. First of four in a row. Two or three songs into the second set out came Jorma, Jack and Papa John. They played most if not all of the set with the Dead. There are two copies on Archive. The quality of both is terrible.
i've been looking for a clean copy for years.

How bout , 07-04-1984 ... I have a cassette recorded from YouTube of the SBD, sounds great , easy show to release ...

How bout 02-15-1973 , I noticed a Master Reel source popped up on Archive.org , so why not let us get a nice remaster of this classic show

I know the Betty Boards have always been popular but they are so widely circulated ... so let's have some shows that are RARE - keep it real !!!

I’m thinking based on the clue offered for Dave’s 50, specifically the reference to “show (shows…?)” and the timing being right,… leads me to believe the show is the Watkins Glen summer jam and the bonus disc is the sound check. I did some quick math at archive.org and it looks like the show would fit on three discs with about 15 min to spare, and that the sound check would almost fit on one, with the need for last song on the other discs.

As is well known, there are Owsley tapes for both days and even though widely available (in so so quality) already, this show deserves the official release, plangent process and all. Here’s hoping I’m right on this guess.
