Week of August 5-11, 2024
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1977, 1978, and 1984.
Our first stop this week is on 4/25/77 in Passaic, NJ, where we have the big second set jam, and encore, form opening night of a three night run in New Jersey: Terrapin Station> Playing In The Band > Drums> Wharf Rat > Playing In The Band, US Blues.
Next is an excellent second set sequence from 4/21/78 in Lexington, JY, where we have Samson And Delilah ; Ship Of Fools ; Playing In The Band > Drums.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 4/27/84 in Providence, RI, with a unique sequence featuring two Jerry ballads back-to-back: Playing In The Band> China Doll> Space> High Time > Man Smart (Woman Smarter).
We hope you didn’t mind three versions of Playing In The Band (four if you include the reprise form 4/25/77!) this week. Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

When I click the link, it says I'm not authorized to view that page. What's up with that? Taper's section is a highlight of my week.

Thank you Marye.

Edit: Whoa, now its doing it on the Jam-O-Week and GD Hour too.
Weird as I know it wasn't doing that when GD Hour posted on Wednesday.
Tapers links not going to music player
Selecting links in Tapers section gives error message that I’m not authorized to access the page. Happens for all weeks.

How do I know this clip?
Bobby's rant before Playin' on Jerry's cigarette jones is very familiar. Not seeing it as an official release anywhere? Maybe somewhere else on this tour? Not the only time he razzed him. Gee, guess I'll have to play DaP7 & 15 just to be sure. Yeah, that's it.
Cheers
jonesin'...
...maybe Weir was being kind, was it really a cigarette jones, or the other of jerry's jones...
Same not authorized page they all send you to.
Thank you Marye.
