Surprisingly just exactly perfect, despite some long gaps, considering it's the 1st show of the tour. Walloping Half-Step to start, interesting set list in an interesting order. Deal is uniquely lyrical. Tasty Estimated. I think I like this!

Week of August 12-18, 2024

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1977, 1978, and 1984.

Our first stop this week is on 4/22/77 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, opening night of the magnificent Spring Tour of 1977, where we have first set music featuring Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo; Looks Like Rain; Deal ; El Paso; Tennessee Jed; Estimated Prophet; Peggy-O.

Next is the start of the show from 4/19/78 in Columbus, OH, where we have Bertha> Good Lovin' ; Friend Of The Devil ; Passenger; Candyman; Cassidy.

Lastly this week is more Philadelphia music, the opening of the show from 4/21/84 at the Civic Center, where we have Alabama Getaway> The Promised Land ; Friend Of The Devil ; Me And My Uncle> Mexicali Blues ; West L.A. Fadeaway.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
