Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1973, and 1991, all from various parts of New York state: NYC, western NY, and upstate NY.
Our first stop this week is on 3/27/72, the penultimate show of the week-long run at the Academy of Music in NYC, where we have China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider; Me And Bobby McGee; Mr. Charlie ; Looks Like Rain; Deal; It Hurts Me Too; Cumberland Blues.
Next up is the closing jam from 3/30/73 in Rochester, where we have this classic 1973 sequence of Truckin'> Jam> Space> Eyes Of The World> Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > One More Saturday Night.
Lastly this week is the end of the show from 3/25/91 in Albany, featuring Space > The Other One>Black Peter>Throwing Stones>Playing In The Band Reprise, Lovelight.

Great jam sequence! The Space > Eyes is sublime.
3/27/72 Academy
1stShow - I came back to comment on Jerry's beautiful pedal steel playing on Looks Like Rain and you were already there. The China Cat and Cumberland were on the DaP bonus disc 2014. LLR debuted during this run and they played it every night, but for the rest of '72 I think played only 3 shows in Europe and 1 in July. It wasn't until '73 that LLR was a regular in the repertoire.
