I really enjoy Workingman's Ed and look forward to seeing them again...

I saw Jerry's aura above him while he was playing lead for "The Schwag" he singing the last verses of "Standing on the Moon"...brought a tear to my eye...great guitar tones, excellent vocals...He (or John from DSO) should be playing for The Dead instead of Warren (in my humble opinion) "In a bed, in a bed, by the waterside I will lay my head. Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul."

I was in CA visiting family and caught Jerry Day 20008. Great band, great show and great vibe!!

I went to see Stu playing with Melvin (JGB) last summer and I was transcended to another place, another time. It had been raining, on and off, all day long and there werent but a few of us that just didn't really care we were there to dance and sing and remember what we once knew and we would not be denied. They played a show for us no different than if we were thousands dancing in the rain at Alpine in 89 and just when the rain hit the hardest they broke into 'Mission in the Rain' and with tears in my eyes I found myself wishing that you all were there! If you get the chance to check them out or Workingmans Ed. . . . DON'T MISS IT! Stu you rock!!!!!

Following up on jaylif's earlier message, just got the official notice of the event. This is in Lafayette, California, where Brent was living at the time of his very untimely death: Benefit Concert On Friday, October 19, a special benefit concert will be held at Town Hall Theatre in remembrance of the late Brent Mydland, former Lafayette resident and keyboardist for the Grateful Dead. The music of the Grateful Dead, as well as select songs written and performed by Brent, will be highlighted in a performance by Workingman's Ed, featuring Stu Allend and Pat Nevins. For the evening, the Town Hall lobby will be transformed into a Grateful Dead wonderland, with lights and tie-dyed drapings. A video montage/tribute will play before the concert. Guests will have a chance to bid on a silent auction, featuring Grateful Dead "schwag." The evening will include the unveiling of a portrait of Brent Mydland that will hang permanently in the theater lobby. As you know, the Town Hall Theatre is a small, intimate setting, with only 188 seats. It is expected that this concert will sell out in record time. Whether you are a Deadhead or a friend of Town Hall Theatre just looking for a special night of music, we invite you to join us.
