    Tough one for me

Not as familiar as most of you with this era so I struggled for many tries until frustrated, then in desperation I went to the comments for cryptic clues. That helped but Ladnarc has been to every show. And Bundubush, are you sure you have all your shows attended listed? I had it early on but didn't realize the person whose archive show I was listening to had the songs out of order which I realized the second time through. A worthy quest nonetheless!
    Cheers

Sorry - First show - I don't have anywhere close to all of the shows I attended listed in my profile. That's probably only about 1/5 or maybe less. They all blend into one. I have a big box full of old ticket stubs and a bunch in old photo albums with old stubs that I sometimes think about pulling out and adding here but haven't had the time. As I wrote yesterday, I didn't think to highlight that point.

    clues

There are always lil clues to narrow down the choices but listening to numerous renditions is my only solution to finding the right show. My Hint: find one section in the song (a strange detail) vs listening the the entire song.

Looks like all the files are 320kbps mp3s now. That's fine with me since I use iTunes and I like to add the album artwork.
Edit: Looks like Day 1 is still a 124kbps. Makes no difference to me though.

OMG This Other One is Other Worldly and the Stella is a Beautiful Rendition. I know I have heard this before and have a good idea where to start. Hint: it ain't 67 or 72 :-D

Rock the Vote you all, Halloween is over and pumpkin headed felons are not where its at (IMO).

Should I follow suit and mention the media format, NO....NO I Shouldn't!

After listening to yesterday's selection, I decide to go to Taper's Section, which I do every Monday. Light bulb goes on as I listen to the Tapers, and I go with my gut, as this HAS to be the continuation of the 7/7 Piedmont show that was the correct answer. I don't think this has ever happened during my previous 30 DOD. My DB 9 has no setlist listed for these Piedmont Park shows, which is the only source I use. I know it's old, but my DB9 is my good friend. Plus, I don't have tons of time to do deep dives.

I keep finding recordings of The Other One that aren't it, but so cool I have to listen to the whole thing

From an era when I saw a lot of shows. It helps that I was at this one ... loved this venue from an era when the band sent folks out into the park in front of the venue and comped tickets to some lucky folks in the crowd. We got comped, once upon a time on both New Years and Dec. 30 ... oh those were the days!

Don't forget the Radio Simulcasts, this was the second coming of The Golden Years fer sure. The Boys kept expanding the music, how could they not capture a whole new generation of life long followers.

The vocal effect sounded familiar. Felt like I'd heard this tape before. Went to search and instead of starting at one end and working to the other, a show caught my eye and I started at that one. Bingo. Not only heard tape before, was at this show.

Go vote like your life depends on it. Vote for peace not retribution.

I impatiently jumped on the wrong one thinking it a lengthy task I wasn't up for and then went to this week's fresh Tapers section as I usually do early on Mondays. Took me about 5 seconds to realize Dave had slyly snuck the answer in there in plain sight. Doh! At least a couple of us saw that. Sneaky but brilliant Dave. Bravo!
We got this. Don't worry. Be joyful warriors.

I finally won a daily prize after 8 years! They don't make it easy to claim though...

Stellar. Good for you. How many folks do you think enter a guess for this where and when game?

So fun. I guessed it…and I’m now completely hooked. The Deadcast got me through the pandemic…this far out game will carry me thru November. After dancin’, dancin’ dancin’ at the Greek in August for Rex Foundation’s benefit, I was reminded that this band and community is my religion. Here’s to peace, LOVE and freedoms…go swing states, go!

I took yesterday off to celebrate my daily prize win and also wasn't feeling like combing through the seemingly endless Dark Star options. Ironically, the one chosen was on my birthday...

Today I zeroed right in on the era of the super charged Healy waste effects on Bobby's voice during Other Ones (waste is not a negative connotation). A few peeks at the year in question and bingo there it is.

When entering the date it is really easy if you just type digits into the field provided (don't deal with scrolling or paging backward through pop up calendars). Just enter the digital date one number at at time.

Agreed the Healy sound is epic in itself. Been doing a lil reading on the subject, and how he liked to F with Bobby. Great years for us, maybe not so much for Bobby.

July 7th, 1969, was a Monday free concert at Piedmont Park, Atlanta, following the July 4th (Friday) weekend's Atlanta International Pop Festival in Hampton GA, one month before Woodstock Festival. The Atlanta Pop Festival had 20 bands, including Spirit, Hampton Greese Band (with Col. Bruce Hampton), Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, Chicago Transit Authority, Grand Funk Railroad, It's a Beautiful Day, Janis Joplin, Blood Sweat and Tears, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin and Johnny Winter.

The Pop promoters opened the free concert at Piedmont with Spirit, Hampton Greese Band, and Delaney and Bonnie and Friends. The Grateful Dead, who were playing at the Electric Theater, Chicago, 7/4-7/5/69, were the Headliners. The show, which was supposed to start at 1pm, was strongly influenced by bountiful quantities of Owsley Acid. This was a big event for the region in the south, as Georgia was not used to the quantity of hippies and "Summer of Love" ethos of the Bay area. The Allman Brothers Band, who had begun playing free concerts at Piedmont as early as May of 1969, were rumored to be in attendance at this 7/7/69 show. Some say there was a big jam at the end, but listening closely I do not hear Duane, Gregg, or Dickey Betts in the mix. So yesterday, 11/4/24, was the 55th anniversary of the release of the Allman Brothers Band eponymous album.

This version kept escaping through the lily fields.
But In the end there's just this one song that matches.
When all the cards are down, you may need to listen to a few shows to get this one.
And when you hear that right song Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this searching Was just a dream.
Good luck all!
Hope there is not any major drama tonight. We need to come together as one country,

Great stuff so far. I've been patient and found every one. Today was the most frustrating but I pulled it out. As for down loading, I just wait till the end of the month when they got everything sorted out and download them all at once. I hope we don't get any repeats....

...I don't mind them so much. Mostly it's just curious to me, because with so much material in the vault, it seems like you'd never need to repeat. But grateful to hear whatever gems are offered.
And FYI, there was one repeat already this year. BTW from 2016 & 2021.

and sooooo good. Try playing the two versions of The Other One slightly out of sync for added trippiness. I love the mixing board hijinks. This achingly beautiful version of Stella Blue is the perfect way to wind down the experience. Makes me miss Jerry. Thanks for the Trip 30DOD!

Same for me playing those two TOOs a tad out of sync. Always fun to do that, but these two were especially trippy! Real smilers!

Rough, late era stuff, but they still keep it together, and it’s still incredibly beautiful. Phil surprising us with McCartney-influenced bass. Such a gift, even at this point. Grateful.
