    almost ablaze

from one of the golden ages of Dead, such an inspired version of this classic combo. virtually flawless save for the vocal flub in Scarlet.
worked backwards from the end of this particular era. not as many versions as I'd thought in that last year.

    Kingfish

I wonder who is writing the hints and also writing the answers?

I have four or five studio albums by Kingfish, so how can their first studio album be their ONLY studio effort?

always love scarlet fire -- intrigued by JGs 1/2 second comment after "heart of gold band". anyone know if it was a cue to the band....or to BIg Steve or crew...or board?

always something new with every listen?

Yes, I did the same thing... then noticing two shows in a row with the same FLUB... You have to be careful on your selection today because they are almost similar.

DRKSTARR is right though. I try not to look at today's comments until I've tried my best or given up.
Cheers

I'm still seeing yesterday's content on android, even after deleting cookies and cache and restarting phone. Desktop is working fine. Is anyone else running into this problem?

I always loved shows at this venue. Once a friend set me up to work security at the sound boards, what a great gig! Someone must have given away thousands of those flexible glow sticks (straws) as the venue was aglow throughout the second set.

Miss those days!

It's all about that lead guitar "icy" sustain tone that was going on right at this time. And that outro of Scarlet duet between lead guitar and keyboards. Those 2 things helped me really nail down the year and tour/months. The timings helped too.

Heart of gold BanDuh! I racked my brain and Deadbase on this one (even downloaded some stuff on LL's) The hints threw me for a loop on year, venue, etc....gonna go with my gut. This is why I love 30 DOD. Nice job eh? :)

As often happens with the GD standards, I went down the wrong rabbit hole, only to emerge a few years earlier in the correct place. Could be an illusion.....

I can't figure when those keys sounded like that and Jerry's voice sounded like that. I need to go to sleep.

My baby's in scarlet, her shackles in gray
If loves to love she's got it slated away
Put it down heavy, pick it up lean
Got to lay it down dirty and play it back clean-Robert Hunter (Mickey raps lyrics FOTM early 1970’s)

I got it, but I have to admit I was way off on this one to start. I was not hearing it right at all. But thank Allah for little flubs to let you know when you get it.
