Anyway, cracked it with the help of my wife's discerning ears whilst sipping our morning breakfast tea (natch - we are Brits after all).....

The era from which today's selection comes became much less mysterious by the time Standing On The Moon rolled by, with that baby grand piano banging away with Garcia's outro solo. Just beautiful! Enjoy, fellow Heads.

When you scroll down to the bottom of the page and you hit “DEAD 101” a photo list of members of the Grateful Dead appears- but there is no photo of Bruce Hornsby. WHERE IS BRUCE HORNSBY?!? Tom Constanten is there (and deservedly so). I haven’t done the math, but Bruce had to play in about as many shows as TC. Bruce was at my daughter’s wedding and I told everyone that a member of the GD was going to be there. Time to give Bruce the “official” status he earned and deserves…

These multiples are usually a slam dunk. At least with this one I had to listen a bit to find the right show.

Is there anyway of screening comments? We prefer to play along and as many have for years; it now seems that we have newbies here. I or shall I say those who have played for many years are not into comments posted of that day's selection with date and place in such comment ON THE SAME DAY. How about all comments are screened and any comment with such statement as, venue, date or the complete setlist would automatically be REJECTED. I've now gone from making my answer first then I take a look back at all comments.

I got a feeling and it won't go away, that we may have visited this wonderful show in past Days.
Every time we hear Jerry bellow “I’d rather be with you”, I believe it carries us all just a little bit further than we have ever been before.
Phil is now sharing that lovely view of heaven with Jerry, Pigpen, Brent, Vince, Keith, and all his other friends.
Just one thing I got to say, Ain’t no Man as psyched as me to see The Avetts later today.
Don’t need a Miracle cause we scored our tickets long ago.
Certain I won’t be able to stand still when the notes start flying.

The only time I have been on the rail for a Phish concert was at Assembly Hall, back in the Fall of 1996. Fun imagining the Dead in that flying saucer-like space.

It only took until November 16th, but finally a show that I was at! I think that’s me screaming “I need a miracle ev-er-y day!”

This was a good one. Never saw a show here but have had many glimpses over the years of 30 Days!

I'm not sure of the exact start and end dates per month for the guys but if we include the entire months:
Wikipedia has TC from Sept 67 > Nov 98 (as touring, longer period for studio) Jerrybase shows 202 shows for that time frame
Bruce Sept 90 > March 92 146 shows. Assuming they were at each show. So not a definitive answer but a place to start

David loves this run of shows. I kinda wish the keys had better sounds, because the band was clearly on fire.

Ah, mornings with the Grateful Dead, breakfast, and a cup of tea. Delightful way to start the day. The wife and I rotate between a cup of Assam, Darjeeling, or Lapsang Suchong (and a dollop of honey of course) whilst listening to the daily offering. Keeps me humming guitar riffs all day!

He was in the band, played and got paid, at a time when they needed him the most in so many ways, kinda like John Mayer bringing that music buisness legitimacy and breath of fresh air.

Standing on the Moon is such a pretty and majestic tune. Nice version.

Highlights are the intro to Wheel and all of SOTM, especially the keys of the outro. Never fails I always seem to get something stuck in my eye everytime I hear SOTM, especially this one. There are many things I could be doing the month of November, but like the song says, "I'd rather be with you" all right here. Thanks to David and Co. for keeping this mother rollin' all these years.

The hint got me there. After a busy morning with no time to hunt, I thought I might not have the time but that hint got me there on the first show I stopped on. Love it! Now I can just relax and listen.

That piano at the end of Miracle, sounded a bit like Roadhouse Blues!

I understand that 30 DoD is limited to goodies from the vault written by members of the band, but the past 14 Novembers I find myself taking deep dives daily. I appreciate the exercise of trying to find the show, and the comments, as if I was wondering the lot, selling shirts, bracelets, or bagels, and having conversations with heads, from VW microbuses to a wood paneled Country Squire, with various tapes of GOGD being played, or folks sitting around playing guitars, drums, and singing dead songs. Our home away from home., on the road, so many roads. Today's deep dive I found myself reflecting on Chuck Berry. The GOGD played 'Promised Land' 427 times, 'Around and Around' 418 times, and 'Johnny B. Goode' 284 times according to Dead Base XI. Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode and Around and Around were released in 1958 as the A and B sides of a 45. Promised land was released in 1964. Every time they played these songs, it was a celebration of the early rock and roll dance music. Time to boogie. Other Chuck Berry tunes played by GOGD include 'Let It Rock' only played once (6/23/74), 'Run Run Rudolph' (released by Chuck Berry but written by Marvin Brodie and Johnny Marks) played a handful of times in December, 1971. Other Chuck Berry tunes were covered by Jerry/Merle, JGB, Kingfish, and New Riders. Thanks Chuck.
