My first shows in the PNW and man o man were they a hoot and a half. 6/23 has been released (DaP 44 - thanks Dave!) and 6/24 was another sweet one. Coincidentally was thinking about listening to it last few days. This is a great 1st Set. Sweet Ultramatrix via Charlie Miller for anybody who cares to hear the whole enchilada.

Week of November 18-24, 2024

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1971, 1989, and 1990.

Our first stop this week is the first show of 1972, on 1/2/72 at Winterland, where we have this classic 1972 sequence of Truckin' ; Sugaree; Mr. Charlie; Beat It On Down The Line; Loser; Jack Straw.

Next up is the excellent second set opening sequence of Iko Iko, Playing In The Band>Crazy Fingers>Uncle John’s Band>Drums on 12/27/89 in Oakland, with the opening track featuring the Big Man himself, Clarence Clemmons on saxomaphone.

Lastly this week is the first set from 6/24/90 in Eugene, and excellent show that started at noon: Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Loose Lucy ; Just A Little Light ; Picasso Moon ; Candyman ; Let It Grow.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
