Is it really 23 years ago tonight?
Stuck in the parking lot during torrential rain storm and missed Little Feat. Rain stops and I ran into Giants Stadium - Sun is setting about 8:30 and Dead come on and open with Eyes. In the set list for this show were several Dark Star teases spread over the entire night into Tuesday Morning 6-18-91...WALSTIB

    What a show
This was my 1st show and man was it awesome.. We went up to North Jersey from Atlantic City, I had $60 and my friend Richard and Aunt Marge each had only $50. We did not have tickets and their were thousands of fingers in the air needing miracles. We walked around for hours with fingers in the air. I bought 3 for $10 blotter on a grassy hill out front and continued looking for that miracle. We walked around fingers pointing str8 up for about 4 hours until finally we couldn't hold our arms up anymore. Not 30 seconds later this dude walks up to us and says "hey I have 3 tickets $40 each". Honestly I made the dude walk to the gate with me to make sure they were real tickets cause nobody was selling a ticket for under $60. We were really looking for that miracle cause we didn't even have enough for what the scalpers were asking. Anyway long story short the tickets were real and general admission. We had a friend named Randy working the sound booth in the middle of Meadowlands. It started raining really hard right before the Dead came on so I screamed up to Randy throw me down a tarp. We got that tarp and that got us down within 10 rows of Jerry. By now my blotter was working and the Dead came out with Eyes Of The World and blew my freaking mind. Half way threw the show a beautiful young girl got up on the chair in front of me and turned around, looked right in my eyes, dropped her dress and proceeded to dance in front of my tripping face with a bowa constrictor snake. No freaking lie this is what happened to me at my first Dead show and this was the show. Richard and my Aunt had been to many shows and said they played an exceptional show that night. And after seeing many shows after this meadow lands show there is no doubt this was a GREAT show and by far my favorite. It was one of the greatest nights of my life and I will NEVER FORGET IT.. thx for reading peace... Robospine09....

Parts were broadcast on ABC's late night concert series. Probably why they opened with Eyes...to get the crowd all fired up on camera. (It worked!!!!)

Unbelievable opener that was almost trumped by a first set Dark Star. Great, great show. This was @ my 25 the show and caught three firsts; Saint, Speedway and China Doll. Not another Dark Star though. That's OK, Eyes OPENER!!

Once the noodleling started every one was screaming "Eyes"! Me and my buddy Jay were looking at each other saying "yea sure" Well, they shut us up hu? sonicutes said 3 songs were broadcast on ABC along with other videos for the "Deadicated" album. You know they wouldn't have just recorded 3 songs, they recorded the whole show (Maybe the other night too). How about getting the view from the vault series running again with this show?

Amazing, unique show. I went to this one and loved every minute of the Dark Star theme woven throughout almost the entire show. Very special indeed.

Maybe the best show I went to. They took me to a new level with this concert. I also seem to remember while we were leaving the stadium we were exchanging cheers with the parking lot crowd over how good the show was. Eyes,Loose Lucy,New Speedway great variety and great order for just a few. Might As Well forever

It was cool, when they opened up with "eyes of the world" the big screen had the steal your face logo come up from far away spinning like a top and then stopped close up as the band began to play. A friend of mine went w/ me and was bored, never to go to another show. He did buy a Tee though...

This was the BEST of the more than 100 shows I saw. During intermission I was standing on one of the circular ramps, enjoying the sunset and warm breeze, when a guy next to me offered me a dose. I accepted, and VOILA!, the second set was even better than the first. :-) Hornsby was playing great, and the boys really took us for a ride that night!

Great Show. I was up in the last row of the top of the stadium looking out at NYC and going crazy with some Dirvishes.

A terrific show all around made more special with that "Eyes of the World" opener. Never would they open with the tune, so what a special moment in GD history.

I went to this show and the night before on the spur of the moment. A friend of mine asked me to go and I traded shifts with a co-worker. Well the night I took the shift our job (a liquor store) was stuck up just after closing. The manager identified the stick up crew and while I was away at the show - the night before the arraignment - somebody came by the job at closing and shot my manager in the face with my friend working my shift only a few feet away....if I wasn't seeing the show, I would have been sitting in the car with my manager catching a ride...I'd probably be dead. The Grateful Dead saved my life.
