This Could Be the Last Time..
I love working far away from my house. The drive to and from work can get interesting, in about 45 minutes of time. Almost a full set. I jammed out to 9-20-2009 - the Third-ever Furthur Show.. and the Jam before Throwing Stones...i kept thinking, what's next..what's next..?? And they were tearing it up. John was Rippin!! It almost sounded like the Eleven, but out came Throwing Stones!!! So awesome!! So many endorphins were released during that jam!!!
I had a crazy thought, that some people calculate when the world is going to end. THese people knew about it. And Furthur or some other Dead-related band would be playing. They claim its going to happen at 11:11 PM. Someone gets the idea to put a thing on the Internet, and have the Deadheads, or anyone for that matter, vote on what the Last Song should be.
SHould it be Ripple? Maybe a comet is supposed blast into earth, so should the song be Dark Star??? or since it will be 11:11, could it be the Eleven..???
Inquiring Heads Want To Know..
You guys should take a vote!
Wow
I've never seen someone get so pissed over the availability of a CD! Man!
That's why on the 8th day God created the vineyard, etree and all the other download sites! :-)

VIp at Calaveras
I would just like to say that it was the worst waste of $240 that I have made maybe ever, it was terrible, a crappy horse corral like thing waaaaaaay to the left of the stage, a room and bathrooms that were not cleaned for three days the ability to sit on the porch from the back of the venue where you could almost see the stage? Come on by my thinking you made about $60,000 on vip tickets and what did it cost ya $50 bucks for one bowl of chips some salsa and a couple of strawberries Hey we got free coffee.Bill Walton sat in the handicapped section cause the VIP section was so crappy
Well I am posting here as I don't know where else to post or who to complain to maybe you can help me complain to the right people. You have my e-mail address I woul appreciate any help you can give me
Death Letter Blues
On this site, the lyrics and music to Death Letter Blues are credited to "Traditional." But this song was written and originally performed by Son House. The music and lyrics should both be credited to him.
I'm certain that you will find this information easily documented online. Could one of the site ops let me know when they are ready to make this change?
Thank you,
Greg Tyler Allison

I'm making my first foray into the realm of forums. I've trod to this digital backcountry of administation forums because this feels akin to shouting my surprise to the sky in faith that an echo of frustration will carry. I'm not posting under the lively banter concerning the Casey Jones download from Europe 72, although that link is where this began for me. I was feeling just edgy enough to think that choppy guitar riff from CJ would really scratch my itch when I saw this in my email inbox:

Can I have those last three words underlined and in bold please? I like it here. Please don't go around selling my digits to strangers. That's bad JuJu man. Bad JuJu. And to sneak it in on the second go round of ...acknowledgement... mumbo jumbo.
Nobody likes junk email from strangers...even if they are drivin' that train ... high on cocaine.
Wake Up To Find Out...
Dick's Picks
I really wish someone from Rhino or the GD team would update us on the future availability of the Dick's Picks titles on CD. I sent an email to customer service asking if any of the out of print titles would be coming back again. The response was for me to ask Rhino, so I sent an email to them. I never got a response. Why can't someone step up and give an answer? I know that others have tried to find out and they too cannot seem to get a straight answer. Some of the titles are selling for high prices on Ebay so why not repress them since the demand for these discs is pretty high.
That's what's on my mind. Thanks!!
lost (sailor) password

Jam of the Weak Link
Why can't we have a proper link to the current Jam of The Week?
The audio for the Jam is up, but you can't get to it very easily.
Hint: Visit the "Features" page, then look for the link for the Jam of the Week April 22 – April 28 [yes, a two-week stale link], scroll down the comments and you'll find that a helpful person, Ted, has posted a link to the current, May 6 - May 12 Jam -- it's a nice one, and worth hearing, from December 1972.
But while you're at the Features page, you'll also notice that page has other problems: It still features last week's Taper's Section as its topmost item -- but that's stale too -- there is a new one today!
Whatever, dead.net!
Two pretty important days
For site maintenance every week, week in, week out:
Monday for Taper's Section, and...
Friday for Jam Of The Week.
This is by now a very regularly occurring problem -- the Features page isn't getting maintained properly. That seems to be the rule, not the exception.
If I didn't love you, I wouldn't even mention it. XO
(some) Thanks!
The Features page now shows the current Taper's Section of top. That was (almost) fast!
But Jam Of The Week????? Well, you still can't get there from here, as they say. My previous hint is now non-operational, because the link to the two-week stale jam is gone, meaning getting to that comment thread isn't easy anymore.
But the gears are probably turning, somewhere...
Update: This week's Jam Of The Week
CAN be found and heard currently if you are Not logged in to your dead.net account.
Curiouser and curiouser...
does this link
here
not work for you?
little debugging exercise...
Error page
"The page you requested does not exist. For your convenience, a search was performed using the query node 26755."
That's what happens when logged IN.
When logged OUT, it works fine!!
fascinating
guess it worked for me because I'm a mod.
Anyway, we think this is all fixed now so let us know if it is not.
In the hope of contributing
some diagnostic information:
When I'm not logged in, I can see the page and it displays "View" and "Workflow" tabs, something I don't recall seeing on any page in the past. (When logged in, I can't access the page at all, still).
Good luck sorting it!
Keep tryin'
JOTW for May 6-12 is still not accessible if you are logged in.
kept trying for days

Oh, well.
A great segment this week, to say the least.

I thought you were a rocker.
(an early 60's English youth reference - Mods & Rockers - London street gangs)
LOL!
Oh well, no comments for a great Jam Of The Week, for the week of May 6 - May 12. Great segment though.
We'll just have to check back for the new JOTW starting on May 13 thru May 19.
In reality, things work very well at dead.net most of the time.
we are having no luck whatever
in replicating this problem.
If you clear your cache/history/cookies, does the problem persist? (Seriously grasping at straws here...)
None of that works.
Only logging out works.
Surprised you can't replicate this -- it seems pretty clear that no logged-in visits are happening.
How do I know? -- Because there are no comments on the page. If you could visit it while logged in, someone would surely have left a comment by now!
May 13 Jam
I'm on pins and needles awaiting the JoTW for May-13-May-19
Jam of the Week
Is anyone else having trouble opening this link...?
What question to ask Mr. Weir this evening...
... in rthe setbreak after he plays solo.
(No problem with the jam of the week, quality a little weak)
unpublished music!!!

that's how it's set up, basically for chaos management. Hey, we have enough of a problem with the spammers without their being able to start topics too. If there's a topic you'd like to see and it doesn't seem to exist, send me a PM and I'll see about getting it started.
Topic wanted posted
Yea I understand. I wanted a thread started that is about classifying GD tune, one by one, a new song would be be posted, and people would post their opinions on which musical genre it belongs to. Ex. Blues, folk, jazz, country blues, country. Im just interrested in seeing songs examined and brokendown, and seeing what the guys were listening to at the time. This would be awesome. New songs would be posted each day.
Chatroom won't take site password
How the heck am I supposed to get into the chatroom if it keeps tellin' me I have the wrong password? Double, triple, quadruple checked, PW works just fine for logging onto site, but nothing else...
checkin out the store...
...and there is ALOT of over priced crap in there. 82 $ backpack? 125$ birdfeeder?65$ windchime? It's crazy in there.
Tune for 30 Days of Dead
I have no idea if this is the place to post this; I can't figure out anyplace else. I rather suspect that the last 4 tunes of the 30 Days have been long selected, edited, and prepped anyhow, but what the hey? I'm hoping that in the last set of 30 Day tunes you folks will include a particularly scintillating rendition of one of the "new" tunes (preferably "Lazy River Road", but any of the post-Built To Last tunes would be good). Just my 2 cents.
150.00$?
was just at the store checking out some items, (20% off today only) and noticed the so many roads box set is now 150.00$, what? 5 discs for 150 bucks? that's 30 bucks a disc, man, I'm glad I got mine when they were 35.00. Listen, there's are some great jams on this set, but 150.00? come on, gouge us some more rhino. You can get one on ebay for about 40 bucks. It seems that everything at the store has gone up, well, no deadnet shopping for me.
personal info
what i would like to know is how my personal info off my dead account got on pipl.com,i know it came from here because it said my profile word for word as i said it in here. please let me know something
the eye in the sky
hey cosmic cowboy, if you don't want to be found, try not using your real personal info on the web, I have heard of this before that you can be tracked by including your real info. Big brother is everywhere. PS where's the next box set? :)
Religulousness
Has anyone else noticed the rapid expansion of Christian-centric thinking in this country? As a product of a prototypical Catholic school upbringing, I tend to shy away from the whole "organized religion" thing, but I can't help but see how the Christian mindset has infected our society in a rather big way since George W. Bush's inauguration. Now, before I start to sound like a total atheist, I only bring this up because I find that people in general are far less open-minded than they were previously. I just miss the days of people being able to discuss their differences in an open, free, and peaceful manner.
Also, does it bother anyone else that the Republican party is pretty much the anti-gay and anti-freedom party? Or is it more bothersome that so many people aren't able to see them that way? They just see them as the "Anti-Obama" party....
this might be
more of a topic for the Trouble Ahead, Trouble Behind, current events topic... I'm sure it would strike some interest...
