    Great Show!
One of the last I listened to in the 30 trips on account of the complaints regarding the patch. This show is awesome! Can't go wrong with Althea, Shakedown into Bertha and a rockin Truckin that had me singing the entire song. As far as the patch, didn't bother me a bit, not like the 74 missing vocals that I thought really sucked.

    30 Trips recording
What a nice show, too bad the end of the 2nd set is missing and replaced with an audience tape patch. This would have made an EXCELLENT Road Trip. Audience patches are like Pink Slime in hamburger, they make something look more complete than it really is by using table scraps for filler.

    Jerry is reported as saying...
"Oh no, not this place again!" upon walking into Barton Hall. I was at this show and it was indeed a killer. Ithaca and the Cornell campus is quite beautiful.

I was not in attendence of this show but this show is one of the most under rated shows ever... period. The Shakedown> Bertha was only played a few times ever together, one being the previous year 5/7/80 in Ithaca are we sensing something special here? This version brings the house down. Granted 5/8/77 always get the love but this show can go toe to toe with that one simply for the fact of the band is more creative and excited, and it shows big time. They play four news song and all the 70's songs rage! They offer two great jams Spanish and Nobody's Fault, sung by Jerry, which is part of a massive 3 song Garica suite that covers everything you love about him and the band.Uncle John's was more than you could ever ask for an encore. I am surprised more is not shared by people who attended this show.

Shakedown Street - 2nd Set Opener - Forever changed my life. I remember milling around on the indoor cinder track within Barton Hall and that 1st chord knocking the dust from the rafters. Amazing!

This was the last show I worked on as part of the Cornell Concert Commission. I Graduated a few weeks later and said adios to Cornell.

Cub sez: I am passing time at home, in a personal countdown to November 10th 2011(my BD) and the date of the FURTHUR's only NYC show at my favorite venue. Seriously, this is it....Madison Square Garden, which is round. So this afternoon as many heads are listening to GDradio, hoping for a playback of the Sunday night Amherst MA Furthur show, I am treated to..........GD Radio.net playing flawless stereo recordings of a show from another NY State music hall, already historic BARTON HALL @ ITHACA. Jerry has all of his effects n pedals working properly as can be easily heard as his guitar changes gears mid-rift several times during every song. Loud n Clear thats what we like to hear some 30 years later. OMG. The Althea cuts right thru my soul while I dance with my soul mate Marcella. I AM NOT WORTHY. Thank you for another "real-good-time" Cheers !
