    Excellent festival gig
Seems like the GD were the only well-known band on the bill. Anyone remember the likes of Sabatic Goat, The Portland Zoo or The Weeds? I'm sure Sabatic Goat would have been bigger than the Beatles if they decided to make it on the national level!! A nice soundboard recording exists. Apparently The Dead were doing what they intended to do at Woodstock. Unfortunately the Bullfrog 2 Festival never got much subsequent publicity and has faded into the pages of time.

Suzie -Portland Also playing at this festival were Taj Mahal and a pre celebrity New Riders of the Purple Sage. My information comes from an old handbill and my husband's memory ,he was the bass player for Sand, at that time.

The link from Cryptical70 has a lot of the raw info that went into this recap from the Columbia County Historical Society in Oregon. Nonetheless, this link is a fascinating summary of the scene a week after Woodstock where the Dead appeared and from which a very nice soundboard exists that we can really get into.
