Nothing else to say. My neck of the woods normally has about 29 days a year of 90F or higher temps. Today should be the 67th of 2010. Add that to 0.2" of rain so far this month (normally 4").....

East coasters beware! Fiona will fizzle out while Earl churns along up the US eastern coast. Let's see what Gaston will do behind Fiona... I'll be on the beach in FL next week....

Gotta love it! 5 days in a row of beautiful weather with highs around 90 starting today. Summer marches on into September. Taking in a fair. tending to the harvest. What a life!

Have you ever seen so may cyclones spinning out of Africa before? Will Earl, Fiona or Gaston make it to the (USA) east coast ?

Marye, your comment on the weather for tonight's game got me to wondering what Jerry might have said in response to the words of Tigerlillie's fave philosopher, Samuel Langhorne Clemens when he said "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"....

First 3 days cool but muggy, went to Maine cooler than hot 92 this morning. now back in Beantown and hot plus most people don't have good A/Cs. In Miami A/C is a religion. And the road goes on forever.... BobbaLee

Not a cloud in the sky, a slight breeze, 50 degrees. Had a brisk walk at noon. Fall colors are stunning. Yellow, red and orange against the blue above. A heaven on earth kind of day. If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. Wiliam Blake

Rain, 64 degrees in NW New Jersey. We do need it though. 2+ weeks ago it was a warm dustbowl with high level fire warnings, at least Smokey said so. Forcast is possible frost Sun night. Hope SoCal is doing better, havnt seen the news today.

First frost light on Thursday night, heavy frost last night. Leaves have fallen off many of the trees, some are now bare, others in their finest orange and red plumage. Blue clear skies. The squirrels are going nuts gathering the walnuts and storing them. If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. Wiliam Blake

if you go back to page 2 of this thread you can see the full collection of 5:15 clocks in our house. the two brown clocks look similar, but they were made by two different makers. one was 'Made in Occupied Japan' which I picked up in an antique shop for about $35 in Kinki, Japan a few years ago. probably about 50 years old now, both of those clocks have nice tones when the clocks strike 5:15! peace.

I reckon the guy selling the clock could not understand English very well, because whenI asked him how old it was, he said, maybe about 15 - 20 years old. so with some hard bargaining, (learned on tour) I got the price down by about half of his original asking price. later I pointed out the markings on it, and mentioned that it was made soon after the war as I was leaving the shop.

Bayfield, Colorado got 6 inches in this weekend's snow storm - the ski resorts a few thousand feet higher got over 3 feet, so the skiers are happy. I really dislike snow, though, and it makes me miss San Diego!
