Mickey Hart Winter Tour And Video

Fans have been asking, who is in the Mickey Hart Band? Here is your first glimpse at the members of the Mickey Hart Band. Stay tuned for more inside looks coming soon.

Watch The Mickey Hart Band Winter Tour 11/30/11-1/21/12 Intro video here

The Mickey Hart Band kicked off it's Winter Tour two nights ago with a sold out hometown show at Yoshi's in Oakland, CA. The Mickey Hart Band features vocalists Crystal Monee Hall and Tim Hockenberry, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Ian "Inx" Herman, guitarist Gawain Matthews, percussionist Sikuru Adepoju, and keyboardist Ben Yonas which you can get a glimpse of in the new video "Introducing The Mickey Hart Band" released today. On the road Hart is performing brand new material as well as selections of his greatest hits and Grateful Dead songs. Hart is donating 100% of the ticketing fees from tickets sold on MickeyHart.net to the American Music Therapy Association.

Hart is currently finishing up his new album to be released in the Spring of 2012. Hart recently sat down with Andrew Greene of Rolling Stone to describe the album:

"For the last two or three years I've been sampling light waves from the cosmos, starting 13.7 billion years ago with the Big Bang," he says. "The signals come from radio telescopes around the world and I work closely with NASA to take the light waves and bring it into our limited spectrum of hearing. Then I add a little spice to them with some reverb and some delay. It makes for a hot little stew."

Mickey Hart is currently offering 10 free downloads from his Smithsonian Collection released last October on his site at MickeyHart.net/download.

Hey Now! Getting ready to leave for work, shortly. My anticipation for tonight is streaming here now. It's looking like a long day and I fear the manifestation of our concuring latitude and longitude is waning. The physical limitations I experience over-rule my desires and a collection of frustrations usually occurs collectively. I have already arrived at the venue in spirt and will await the moment my shoes hit the threshhold. It's going to be a long day no matter what. Oh wait I know how long today will be --- A light year away. Fucking hello metorite shower! I will be taking today's shower with the shower-head on hard pulse :;:;:;:;:;:;: just to get connected with the feeling of my destination today--- the Universe. Well, shows gonna start and the chances of me hearing that first note is pretty obscure but I will be standing right there. Hope ya'll are happy, healthy and are warm, xo! Fingers Crossed, Rock ON! ----------------------------------MHB-(--------@

Hey hey your going to Syracuse!I am going to have to work that day but I will get there as soon as can! If I am late can we do a double encore? --------------------------------------(-----@ Well, I can't wait to keep up with you and Sikuru. You have always been such a run for my money! It looks like you have a great group of talented musicans and the fun is just about to start! I expect an out of body experience and for a donation of only $35.00-why folks better get ready! Very well, see ya in the NEW year. On another note... I've been listening and always watch you like a starved eagle and an mystical astronaut >>>lol. The recent music you've made is tremendous! Kudos to the Smithsonian for noticing! This music is incredible, the instruments and deep space are unusual and fasinating, producing sounds for the brain to be stimulated by. BRAVO! I. too have spent a good deal of time with the Monks and their sounds are some of the greatest I have encountered. Their attire and nature are perfectly paired for a visual and audio experience. I find that with some of the African experiences too. The Ladies Choir is PHENOMINAL. I love choirs, childrens especially. There is something about that unified sound of all the voices that brings me to tears often times. The larger the better. I have witnessed many amazing gigantic choirs and I always embrace each voice, not so easy to do but I'm practiced and can find each note, I had a great mentor. You should seek to find the largest one ever and present them! I would love it. Or get several to combine and become one Mass, that would be Smithsonian material with-out a doubt! You're so curious and capable, thirsty for imperial material--- I love that about you. I'm smiling. :) ------------------------------(-------@ On the ding of the bell... I listened to Hells Bells. I think you did a super job with it. It was a fine job but He didn't answer THE DOOR. Might need to stop by that musical endeavor again with a NEW bell. If He answers the next time you'll need no introduction. I've already been there and I AM back again, I think Steve Earle was too. Are you ready? HA! I AM. Alright, more to say and got no time to say them. May all your tour be so satisfying you'll smile all year. ---------------------------------------(---------@ Please hit the first note for Me, thanks, xo! My best lovingkindness for You, ALL! There is only ONE Mr. Hart, people get ready! It's time to PARTY, AArrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooo! ~Only the Strange Remain, Syc., NY 9/12/2000 IT was Rocking~ Never got it out of my head. Thanks!
