    fight?
wasn't this the show where a fight broke out right near the end and Bill came up and grabbed a mike stand and swung it into the crowd? Put a bit of a damper on what had been a great show.

As I recall it, in the middle of Casey Jones, a fan went over the security barricade in front of the stage. The security guards started tearing into him. Bobby took his mic stand and swung at the security guys. He said something to the effect of " Stop punching our F***ing audience". He then refused to start the music until the security guys left the front of the stage. They left, the song continued. I've always wanted to hear a tape of this show, and this portion, but have never found it...I did think it was a couple of years after this time however...but the date was never as important as the event in my mind!!

Another one of those dreamy, sleepy '73 shows. A very nice show though without any real explosions. In set 1, China Cat, with the Feeling Groovy Jam, is excellent, as are the solos in Me & Bobby McGee and Ramble. In set 2, Big River has an excellent, extended final solo, Truckin has a pretty hot jam (with a Nobody's Fault), the Other One is a bit short but still a highlight, the Jam before WRS is pretty cool and Sugar Mag has an excellent jam before Sunshine Daydream. VG show, 8.5/10

Was there. The band was really good this night. Cooking and in what turned out to be the final encore, there was pushing up front. Wier did yell F***ing knock it off or we will leave. They left. They were really cooking. I have always wondered what we missed because of that nights incident. Would love to hear a tape.

I think a very angry Phil yells "Alright Asshole" three times. "Your'e outta here!" he says. Casey was stopped and after the commotion they went into Saturday Night. I have a good copy of this. If anyone wants pm me.

This was my first Dead show and I got front row seats (connections in the ticket office) on the middle left aisle. In the middle of the last set, 2 very drunk girls wandered up to the aisle to my left. During Casey Jones, one decided to climb over the security barrier. The security guard sitting in front of her hauled off and punched her as she was halfway over the barrier. Bob saw it, stopped the song, and said "Don 't beat up our fans, man". Roadie type security guys showed up and replaced the Met Center security guys. The Dead finished the song and left.

They played this show on GD Radio.com last Sunday! It was a great show...agree it was very dreamy and serene, especially the 2nd set, mainly due to the inclusion of practically the entire Wake of the Flood material. After all, it was 1973! In the middle of what was intended to be the encore, Casey Jones, you could heard a fight erupting, and voices shouting, " Get back! Get fucking back!" Then Bobby stopped playing, and went mental and started shouting at security not to hit their fans. Then the whole band stopped playing. Bobby started threatening to leave, but Jerry (the voice of reason) started saying in a normal voice, "Why do a few people have to rush the stage at the very end, and make what could have been a great night a bummer? If everybody just steps back, we can continue." After about a minute, they started into "Saturday Night" and then left immediately.

As I also recall, they had a giant Wake of the Flood backdrop, looked like the albumn cover.
