    I'll be there!
For the past 18 years I have listened to this monumental broadcast, as well as supported the good work of KPFA. I encourage everyone to make an effort to tune in one way or another, where ever you are. It's well worth the effort, and if you can send a few bucks to their way, all the better. David has been a shining light for the Dead community. He has worked tirelessly to bring the music to all of us, and he has volunteered countless hours on behalf of this great radio station. KPFA is a bastion for alternative music and non-mainstream political viewpoints. Check it out!!

Wow. David just finished playing the whole show of BCT 1985. It reminds me of how good it was. Sure, the voices aren't as good, but you just have to listen for a while and your brain adjusts. They really did play well and it's nice to near all the new songs that did not exist in the 70's. The marathon goes until 0100 Feb 5 PST, and the late hours coming up are the best! So tune it in!

The marathon raised more than $25,000 for KPFA and elevated the spirits of souls around the world (mine foremost among 'em!). The playlist is here and a long list of thank-yous is here. Also please see this lovely poem by Laura Slusher.

Glad to see the donation number is good, and my spirit is still elevated from yesterday's broadcast. The David Nelson set was top notch and the JGB concert outstanding! I'll be looking for opportunities to get copies of both. The over-the-air broadcast quality was excellent, so rest assured your equipment was working AOK. It's incredible how good FM sounds. I have always been a big fan of FM and it's good to see the technology is advancing. Looking forward to the next Marathon, and of course, to the weekly Dead to the World broadcasts. I'm particularly happy that KLOI 102.9 from Lopez Island, WA, broadcasts your syndicated show. This is yet another of your multitudinous community service gifts.

but I suspect others are in a similar situation to the one I'm in, i.e. were planning to call in our pledge in the evening and wound up getting distracted and/or going to sleep instead, so please post details of how we can pledge and have the show get properly credited!
