    Bobby's Moment of Silence
I added a shot from that show when Bob went back to the drum platform and a had that moment of silence. Still searching for my shots of Bill W, Leary, and Barlow they were in the wings stage left. From the SBD when did he make the reference. I knew that was why he sat down I just cant place where it was in the set.Mahalo Derek

Even though I was with a sea of people, I can still see Bill off to the side of the stage swaying. If he was on crutches at the time it would explain some of the swaying I was seeing.... Also the sbd I have of this show has Bobby making reference to "giving a moment of silence for the Celtics" so Im not sure if that was twards Bill or not but the image of big ol Bill sticks in my mind after all these years.... Thanks for sharing Buddy
I would have liked to have overheard that conversation with Leary, Walton and Barlow. If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. William Blake

we were walking out through the backstage parking lot. We see Timothy Leary, John Barlow, and Bill Walton (who was on crutches at that time) get into Leary's silver grey Mercedes. After a bit of difficulty navigating the lot, the car stopped and Leary and Barlow switched seats and Barlow drove. Perhaps Mr. Leary dropped out, tuned in, and turned on just a bit too much to drive? I still have the "it doesn't matter what you wear" flyer someone was giving out. I also have the "Happy Birthday Bill" stuff too. Somewhere... I remember eating some fungal vegetable matter and the ground was doing some interesting wave effects kinda like the ocean... All in all it was a fun weekend! I'd like to take that ride again...

Funny y'all should bring up the "moment of silence"...it was because the Celtics had just lost the fifth game of the 1st round of the '90 NBA playoffs against the Knicks and were eliminated. I am a huge Celtics fan and I remember being at the show wondering what the score was....Bobby took care of that info. Walton's last game with the Celtics, however, was in '87....He had chronic foot injuries for his whole career, so crutches were not unusual. I do remember him on stage left both days at CSU Dominguez.

While Saturday was hot, Sunday made Saturday seem likea day in the spring time shade. Sunday the needle topped 105-,109. My sweat was sweating, man. The Jam from Space into the Other One, where the Band explodes with a freight train sized "on stage" call for a delinquent Brent, was the spatula that turned over my fried brain.

John: Ahh, Timmy? Could you please pull over and let me drive? There wern't any families of squid back there...Tim: I'll pull over if you give me that saltshaker full of coke. Bill: Will you two quit yapping and get us to the Green Room. My leg is aching like hell and I have to take my meds. Tim: Nurse! I need my meds. Meds! Meds! John: Damn it Bill, did you have to get him started again?

At the time of this show, which I attended alone, I was in a miserable love relationship and obsessed about her throughout. One of the few times the GD's music didn't liberate me. Sad.

Just 6 months earlier I had followed the east coast Oct 1989 tour to it's last stop in Miami. (I followed a girl) Since then, I had relocated to the beach and this was my first road-trip with my new friends from all over, but we converged at the South Beach bars that winter. There was Miami Mike, Anne from Texas, The Electric Ballon Sisters, Trap Johnson n Cub (me). I was the taper, and had the sturdy light-mic stand w umbrella etc. These were my last shows with Brent. I had great location for my equipment and friends on the furniture blankets. Does anyone remember the naked guy walking around the soundboard area during intermission ? The tapes were my first DAT with NAK 300 shotguns and the Weight crushed. So Glad WE All' Made It

On the way out my friend said, "This really could be the last time." and sure enough it was the last time we ever saw Brent.

It was a great end to my short show list. It was the last time for me to see Jerry with the boys. Woulda, shoulda, coulda You know all that second guessing isn't gonna give me one more show. Photos would help to ease the pain.

listened to the ultramatrix version of this show finished the 1st set. 3 songs I could tell it was going to be better than the previous night, which was sloppy. it also has a better mix than the previous night's show as well.
