- Ryanscot12 years 8 months agoDillon StadiumMy 7th show, and all told, of the 200 I eventually saw, my favorite of all time. A scheduled 6:30 start - but Phil walks out at 6:00 and says, "looks like everyone's here, so we're gonna get started". The band was raring to go, as was the audience on this beautiful summer day. I remember the crowd hooting' & hollering' at Me & My Uncle. Later, a great Jack Straw followed by a China-Rider for the ages. Through a great 2nd set highlighted by a fine Eyes, and concluded with a gorgeous Weather Report Suite. And then Jerry steps out and says "we're gonna take ANOTHER break. Set 3 full of delicious jamming, concluding with a raucous Saturday Night. Back for the encore they tune for a while before Phil tells us that it will sound a lot better if it's in tune. A beautfil Uncle John's Band finally ends it at 11:30 - 5 1/2 hours of bliss as the sun set behind them. Can't wait for the release.
