Have never seen NRPS though & still might yet. Also went to a gig at the Brixton Academy in 2000 that was Ken Kesey & the Magic Bus on a Merlin Tour.............. I see you are in Granada - I have always wanted to go to the Alhambra!

I really don't know. We missed the show.I still feel bad about it. Instead of being able to publish the shows that I attended (zero) I could better publish a list of the shows that I missed: 1986 The Grateful Dead Gruga Halle, Germany. (Rock Palast) 2007 Bob Weir / Daedaheads, Norway 2008 Dark Star Orchestra, Amsterdam It is getting quite impressive. But there are always the CD's and DVD's to enjoy. Ship of Fools

I will be in Europe next week and will be in the following European cities. Am always up for some drinks and a conversation. I will be in Brussesl near the Grand Place for a few days and in London for a couple of days. Paris will only be for a day so not too much time. From Europe down to Africa. but anyway, i would love to meet anyone for a drink if our paths cross. The first round is on me. We are the eyes of the world. Trifecta

Hey y'all, finally I reached page 37! Uff...Well, I hitchhiked through the States in Summer 89, once from Yosemite back to SF a girl gave me a ride and sais "I go to a GD concert, why don't you come with me? We'll get a ticket somehow". I did. Whoops, what was that? The parking lot, the people, the atmosphere *** We arrived at a friends tent who said "I'll get you a ticket." A while later he managed to buy one from a black young guy in a tye-die. So I went later on with the flow of happy smiling people who definitely were looking forward to something VERY special. I wondered and went with the flow, wow! At the gate they checked my ticket and this guy said "I'm sorry, a counterfeit, turn around and go back." Wot? Went back to the tent, sad... There this girl who gave me a ride and her friend who bought the ticket were waiting for me, "A counterfeit, right?", "Yeah". "Here, take mine, it's your first show". Man, that was unbelievable, kind and warm, friendly and helpful - DEEP. That was the entrance to my first Dead show. I was hooked, not seen very much shows but started tape trading later and then CDs, began hosting a radio show on public radio with a friend in Bremerhaven called FISCHPOP including my regular Dead Ecke (Dead corner). After moving to Hamburg, I started my own jamband-related radio show on Radio FSK (Freies Sender-Kombinat) called STASH playing sounds of the GD, Phish and other jambands from the States or Europe or Germany. Man, I love the music of the Dead, their jams and explorations on stage! Yes, there are some like-minded heads over here in Europe, I am in joyous contact with firends in Parma/Italy, Edinburgh/Scotland, Le Havre/France, Zürich/Switzerland and traded with uh, a guy in Madrid/Spain, one in Stockholm/Sweden and so on and with quite a few in Germany. There are even some deadhead meetings in this country. Visit www.germanheads.de or www.deadicated.de. And I'm happy to meet deadheads in Hamurg and it's getting more and more. A few weeks ago I was suddenly invited to a rehearsal of a GD tribute band here in Hamburg - together with Arne and Anneliese (anybody knows them??) I was impressed and deeply moved. They named themselves Cosmic Finger and a few weeks later they played their first show in front of only a dozenorsomething deadheads and muchmuch more people who had never heard about the Grateful Dead. That was an experience! Dancing all around the place (Mayday), everybody was happy and enjoying the music. Puh, I'm sorry, I'm writing and writing. I'll get back to you, after reading all the 37 pages in I don't know, two hours with a few Astra, I'm taking some of you in my heart already. Ah, before I forget: you can visit www.stash-radio.de to find out about my radio show, next one will be on June 10 with some Winterland 73 and Road Trips, new Phish releases and the marvelous Mars Mushrooms from the Nürnberg area. Wanna listen? All the previous shows are waiting to be heard at http://www.stash-radio.de/archiv.htm. I'll have one more on the balcony and go to bed. Ah, and DSO was a treat, last year in the Fabrik in Hamburg (yeah, where Bobby played) and in Bonn, this year in the Melkweg for a few days. >> Jodester, still hanging around in Hamburg? More than five weeks ago, I moved somewhere completely else and next to nothing worked out the way I had planned, thought and had been told it would. Now after I have internet access and a working email address again, I try my best to get used to the 56k modem flint stone thing again and again. Updates for my computer will take forever while downloading music is history. But well Aside the fact, that I feel like shooting a lion in my pants, like ole Groucho once said, life is good, especially the strawberries & I will ripple on andré

Anyone going to this gig? I've been travelling around England for the last five weeks! Glastonbury etc..! Great times! an old school tourhead finally makes it to Glastonbury and Leonard Cohen was wicked! Now I'm trying to do Little Feat in Wolverhampton, London and Weert (Bospop Fest. Holland). A little bit of the tour at least! Basically I need a place to crash after the Wolverhamton gig to make it feasible for me to be there. Or a ride to London after the gig that night as I can stay at my friends house there. Or hotel room floor space and I could chip in. Can anyone help out? I'll be out on the road across Northern Europe until November for anyone interested (Frank!! Wassup?)! Then back to Hamburg! The Sunday at Bospop also features Dickey Betts of Allman Brothers fame if anyone is interested! :) Hope to c some of u there perhaps!? Much love, Jody "Are you kind?"

I have only just got an e-mail number and this is my first post ever.Love of the Dead is dragging me kicking and screaming into the modern world and it is hard work.I first heard the Dead in 71 when I borrowed Live Dead off a schoolfriend.I loved Dark Star-St Stephen-The Eleven but I didnt really "get" sides 3 and 4 at the time.Off to university in 73 where I bought a second hand copy of Europe 72 and I was hooked. The music scene at the time was rubbish so I got into US bands-The Dead,Allman Brothers,Dylan,Doors,New Riders etc. I only saw the boys once,at the London Rainbow in 81,a solid gig but a bit like a long first set.I missed them in 91 because I was into dance music at the time and didnt know they were over here.It is only through Dicks Picks and more recently downloading that I have come to appreciate what an absolutely stonking band they were.I am up to about 90 concerts on CD and I cant wait to jump on the Vines once I have worked out what to do.My tame computor geek left for S.Africa shortly after showing me how to download so it could be a while.I had to teach myself to convert flac and shn formats and it took ages.I am listening to a rehearsal session from 28-2-75,worth downloading just for the "Bouncy jam" which does exactly what it says on the can.Wonderful.

Hi Sven, nice to see you in here!Yeah, Cosmic Finger is way cool! I've seen them four times (although they only played three shows yet...) and I was overwhelmed every time. Invited them as guests in my radio show STASH (http://www.stash-radio.de/archiv.htm), played their first studio track during the last show and gotta say, they are just a bunch of cool guys. I hope to see them a lot more on stage (and beyond...). Frank --- www.stash-radio.de

Will tell him people have been asking-he should be pleased to hear that.********************************** Don't part with your illusions. Gilmour paid tribute to Wright on Monday, saying his input was often forgotten. "He was gentle, unassuming and private but his soulful voice and playing were vital, magical components of our most recognized Pink Floyd sound," he said. "I have never played with anyone quite like him." "Are you kind?"

I'm from Rome now living near Milan, never knew another deadhead from my country I know there must be a few scattered all around, but just a few...the Dead were never huge here, that's why they never played Italy, I guess got into the Dead listening to them on the Dylan/Dead album since then I got 90% of their stuff i love everything from 1970 on, don't like their sixties productions

Thought it was about time I joined and said hi! I'm in Manchester and was lucky enough to see them in '85. Only wish I'd been old enough to see them in the late 60s/early 70s as well. I've been to Southport - but I never saw any deadheads there! I remember there were a handful of deadhead gatherings at the Briton's Protection a few years ago. Do they still happen? Anyone know?
