My first and only shows with
My first and only shows with Jerry. Was the lightning on Friday or Sat? I wasn't there on Sunday so I remember it being on Saturday. I went on a date with a friend from high school last night when we attended a Cheap Trick show. She said: 'I don't remember much as I was dosing all I know is there was a big electrical storm'. I knew right then we had been at the same show. Amazing!! I haven't seen anything like it in my life. It felt the gods were having a discussion with a little tiff in there some place. Seeing LL Rain being played while it was pouring on us (Idaho Center Ampitheater) in 04 was very memorable as well. Opening with Shakedown St at the Gorge that same year. So many memories and so much fun! "The sky was yellow the sun was blue". hard_to_handle

Hey Now ! I will come back and write this story when I am not at work- God and former bandmember Angels came to the show to encircle the Silver bowl with Lightning from the end of Terrapin through I need a Miracle. In Miracle, it went, da, da, da-da, dat, BOOM, dat,de,dat,de,da ~ Like Jerry was using thunder as accents... then there was a double rainbow as the cloud peeled away during knockin'... ethereal . Peace to All~ Kerry(East coast) I am not kidding, you can hear and see it on the tapes...

If the thunder dont get ya the lightnin wil!! Although I gave my tix for this show to a friend (who taped that night) I heard and saw from the casino we were at the light and sound show. I would pull a slot and wham! A roar would come over the little casino we were in...We had to go outside and watch the light show before going back in to lose our money....

My bro Jake flys out for his 21st B-Day and I get us tix to this show and the next. We got so f'ed up we couldn't even talk for a while, especially when they started Cumberland Blues. As the drums start the thunder and lightning starts. During the drums and space a misting drops on all of us. Out of space somes the rainbows in the sky over Sam Boyd. Truly a great memory. Everyone was just enjoying the music and the people all around. Great vibes !

These were some of the best Dead shows in Vegas. I will never forget the awesome clearing of stormclouds during 'Knockin' on Heavens Door' and rays of setting sunlite beamed from the western horizon. It was a religious experience like i've never felt. The spiked watermelon being passed around didn't hurt either. 'Momma take this badge from me ... '

My lord the lightning! In our enhanced state we were grooving up in the lofty areas of the silver bowl (aka toilet bowl). Like loons stomping in the puddles as the lightning was crackling overhead.I heard it rip before I saw the flash. Didn't someone in the lot get bopped outta their hatchback by that lightning? My oh my never had such a time. What a great tme back on the strip. Blue hairs and tie-dyes!.

and the weather was just perfect for the music... reminiscent of the 7/10/90 show in Charlotte when it rained during Masterpiece & everyone started jumping the fence and sliding down the grassy slope onto the floor & the ensuing power outage during Promised Land - maybe 10 - 15 seconds, with the fellas resuming RIGHT ON point, as if we were watching a DVD and God clicked the pause button. Vegas 92 was fun... perhaps a gem in the view of the post Brent era

Does anyone remember how hard Jerry was belting out Standing on the Moon? He was screamin' "Be with you......I'd rather be with you...". What an beautiful, emotional show.

Does anyone know if there was actually a video of this show floating around anywhere? and where I can get a good copy of the set to download? I was at this show and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

I was having a High Time standing under the showers at the side of the field, getting away from the heat. The lightning in the distance was ominous and cool as hell! Standing On the Moon opened the sky! Somewhere in Jerry's solo everything just went to another level. It was rapturous! Terrapin too! Jerry just channeled SOMETHING that day. More than usual anyway! ;) As Goldencircle said, one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I don't know which day we had the sand storm in the parking lot. Everyone walking around veiled, looking like Arabs or with playing cards stuck in their shades! It took heart to venture through that! Ironically, I now live at the foot of the mountain that was behind the stage, lol! Sam Boyd is practically in my backyard! That show stands out among so so many. If that's what Heaven is like, take me now! I'm good!

I have never experienced anything like if before or since. It may have been the heat, it may have been the roses, but I can still hear certain riffs in my mind today. There was a certain consiousness there that day... it was truly special
