Location of Terminal Island show 8/4/71
Steve Parish talked about this show recently on his radio show. He said they were there to play for Owsley who was incarcerated. They set up and played in the library. They smuggled a bunch of LSD inside and everybody got dosed.

    FCI Terminal Island
I was in (visiting) FCI Terminal Island yesterday - 4/15/12 - and meet a fellow Deadhead. We talked about this show and wondered where they set up. The North yard would be logical. Any photos out there of this show? Or maybe someone from the band or crew could respond. On another point, any support effort going on for our brothers and sisters on the inside? Pen Pal type of stuff or whatever... The U.S. has 6 or 7 percent of the worlds population but about 25% of the worlds prison population.

On the new Road Trips cd's (Road Trips Vol. 1, #3 ) the Dead just released, these songs were taken from the Terminal Island Correctional Facility show. Not sure of any order but they were indeed played. 8. Not Fade Away> (8/4/71 Terminal Island) 9. Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad (8/4/71 Terminal Island) 10. Turn On Your Lovelight (8/4/71 Terminal Island)

During this period, Pigpen was shortening the Lovelights (by removing a verse). Whereas Lovelights of 1970 went for almost 30 months, this one is about half that. Still, this Lovelight has a lot of energy.
