    2nd Show
My 16th birthday so I was easily able to talk my high school crew into going. Parked on roof and began drinking and smoking but G started guzzling whiskey. He was quickly out of control and as we headed to street he kept hassling heads for acid or anything . Uncool he raced ahead of me towards front of line. By the time I reached him he'd scored some purple microdot, crushed it on the back of his hand and was snorting it. I'll never forget the look on those shocked faces as I hauled the huge gangly guy off.Turned out to be lots of fun (except we had to take turns babysitting).

Yes, for me too, my 1st GD show ...
Homed in Hamden, Connecticut... my 1st show.Hard to be able to "analyse" but beyond what seemed to be a once again redundant Estim > Eyes ... (I believe it became my nemesis throughout my 15-20 shows), I do remember the sweetness of what would become "the omnipotence of the Grateful Dead"...

CaptainTrips69 I am trying to remember at which NewHaven show After the show we went back to my car in the lot across from the colesium. We were all blocked in and I was parked in front of A FENCE. iF i WAS TO RUN OVER THE FENCE AND GET OUT THEN EVERYBODY ELSE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET OUT. i STARTED TO DRIVE OVER THE FENCE AND EVERYBODY WAS CHANTING MY NAME UNTIL i KNOCKED THE FENCE DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO GET EVERYBODY OUT. DOES ANTBODY OUT THERE REMEMBER???

Easily the hottest second set that I ever witnessed and I witnessed my share. Perfect venue for a narley Warf Rat and the Sugar Magnolia - Encore U.S. Blues was stellar. Perfect selection for the very important DP#25. This is the band I love best, doing what it did best, at the time they were doing it the best!!!!! I seems like parking on the roof was a good choice Rossboy777

Ummmmmm - this what happens when you do your hallucinogenic appetizer 2 hours driving distance from the concert hall - you show up halfway thru the 1st set. Got to see a bunch of the one-way streets in downtown New Haven, but no worries - this show was all about the 2nd set which blew the roof off the place. Dynamite Other One, Wharf Rat and Sugar Mag. A great Dick's Picks choice.....

Nice show....!st set was cool. Estimated Prophet Eyes of the World drums The Other One Wharf Rat This was killer. I remember smoking some cool shit that night, then going to The Norge(Bar around the corner) and getting loaded in Rum and Cokes.

My second show and enjoyed it at the time. As time went on I thought that the next night was the one to catch. Although its nice to have it as a Dicks Pick selection I could think of other shows more worthy. Anyway..... after I listened to the DP recording there is an interesting exchange between Weir and Garcia. Weir complains about Jerry tuning and in the background you can hear Jerry saying fuck you and goes into TLEO. I wonder if Jerry was tuning for Werewolves.......I guess we'll never know.

Me and my friends got there late too - like into the 3rd or 4th song. That was before we realized it's good to go to shows a day or so early. Happy to get to hear the whole thing on DP25.

Interesting show which cause me to feel that New Haven Coliseum was not Dead Head friendly. During 2nd set I was kicked out because, as I heard security say, "get him. He is having too much fun." Though I got back in for US Blues. :)
