A very happy birthday, Bobby Weir. Thank you SO much for one of the best shows I've seen in years, this past Monday night. It was wonderful to see you with the ol' boys again. Your playing was STELLAR. I don't know if you'll read this, but me & MY boys would like to invite YOU & YOUR boys (RatDog) out to OUR show (our annual HALLOWEEN show - the theme is come as a character from a GD song!), directly after YOUR show in Pittsburgh on 11/1. We're bringing extra amps, just in case!!! Mark Karan already emailed our friend (who's sitting in w/ us for the night) and said that you'd probably be heading right out to Richmond - BUT your Richmond show isn't until 11/3!! I didn't realize the Throckmorton show was last weekend, thought it said June28, until I checked out the Furthur website yesterday. I hope Bob will bring his solo-acoustic tour to Arcata sometime this year, haven't seen a show since the Rhythm D's played there a year ago.

WRG will play at KC Crossroads this Saturday night! It's been awhile since Bobby has performed in Kansas City. He'd been in Lawrence, KS with Ratdog a time or 2.This venue is an outdoor urban theater located behind Grinder's a pizza joint w a good microbeer selection.

Maybe I see some of the same things in myself that I saw in the 2009 press conference with the boys in NYC or in the interview with Bob. I haven't hit the trail anywhere near as hard as they have but I recognize the symptoms. Watch the interview again. This is akin to a prizefighter with too many blows to the head. Remember, I said the soul was intact. Read some of the comments on archive about Bob. People there pull no punches. Most of the world is living in denial, I realize that. "so naive and pathetic" That is what I would say about people who don't give their honest opinion. I have quite a few compliments for what I write and I'm not at all insecure about it. Nor do I think Bob needs an iota of affirmation from me. I did say that I'm not batting on the same level as Bob, so may not be able to pull it all in. One thing I do know, I've been trained very meticulously to observe without my judgement butting in. So why don't you reign in yours? Judgement, that is. Other people have pointed out that on this site people just fall all over themselves to point out the good with the blinders on. I see that. But I also see people who disagree and are not afraid to say so, That is what makes this a great site to read and post on. What I have come to see is that not everybody sees this site in the same way. It is the commercial arm of of Rhino and GDM. Any questions?

It was a good choice, as far as I am concerned,to not put Bob or Ken in the opinion of a useless critic. I understand your post and have looked into the information surrounding your post. The facts you are attempting to humble Bob and Ken into are so far from me and the information I have gathered. You know little of Bob and the great purposes he is involved in. Have you investigated the awesome volunteering he is apart of. Have you seen his TRI studio...one the best on the planet? Bob Weir is a excellent role model, excellent guitarist, excellent coordinator and facilitates some of the most excellent up and coming musicians! If you think you are spot-on in your description of Bob by stating "Poor Bob" you are definitely mistaken and know nearly nothing of the amazing person he is. How foolish of you to claim to be in the know and really know nothing. It's rubbish you say...as there will never be a day "Poor Bob" will ever prevail truth. Bob is one of the best individuals on the planet and beyond. It's an unchangeable fact, no if or ands about it. That is equally true for Ken; I am not even going to argue it. He was (is) a phenomenal man. If you think your doing the world or this site a favor by expressing your often negative and hurtful comments; think again. Your joy and love is where it's at not the darkness. Heal yourself woman, you are loved. Stop dragging the wicked around like a child with a little red wagon. The Grateful Dead and Family have been generations of lovingkindness; the best love of the highest measure. It's unfortunate our current generation has fallen victim to believing ridicule, belittling, sarcasm and hate talk are somehow the way to live and communicate, much like what you are up to. "Ain't no time to hate???" Well, I am glad to discuss this and will follow up and make - disappear soon. However, it is good to exchange words with you as I better know who you are and how you are thinking about things. All the best to you as I wouldn't want you to delve into anything that is hurtful as we do hurt ourselves when we hurt others. Many are addicted to the pain, hope you don't spend too much time there. Last year SF Giants coach/Americana musician Tim Flannery did a couple of benefit concerts for Giants fan Bryan Stow, who was severely injured when he was beaten after a game at Dodger Stadium. At the Uptown Theatre show in Napa, Bob Weir sat in. Now the show's coming out on DVD, also benefiting Stow, who's probably going to need care for the rest of his life. Read all about it...

Maybe I should mind my own business, but what the f is up with Bob's health. I'ver heard all kinds of rumors and figured you folks would know better. If he is in a "treatment center", that can't be a good sign. I mean if its just a shoulder problem then fine. But if its more serious and no official word other than he is out tiil mid June then I am not sure its as simple as a strained shoulder. No matter what I wish him a quick and speedy recovery

I got to see the video of Bobby falling and it didn't look like his shoulder was bothering him, I mean he staggered, stumbled and fell down and could not get up without roadies help, finished song and was never seen again this nite. What's up Bobby? inquiring minds want to know, is it the shoulder? is it rehab? is it old age? what ever it is, please keep in mind that you are not 20 anymore. I for one would like to see you take off as much time as you need or want, yes, we will all miss you, but you will still be alive, which is what it's all about, right? Please don't go out like Jerry, save yourself, if not for us, for your family. Tri studios has pretty much made this video unavailable on the web due to copyright, or is it that they just don't want people to see what really happened? Love ya Bob. Get well first, then play.

Sounds to me like Bob had a heart attack. Considering the symptoms, it pretty much fits the description. Either which way, I hope he feels better soon!

I accept Phil's explanation that "Bobby has an injured shoulder" for what it is. If Bobby has an injury, he may be on prescription pain killers (IE Rush Limbaughesk Oxycodone issue). The night he bailed, it was the last show of the 9 night run in Portchester. Who wouldn't have a drink on such an occasion? I am not claiming that Bobby is a Wharf Rat or anything but I would find it hard to believe that at this point in his life, he would develop a drinking (Pigpen) or drug (Jerry & Brent) problem. He is married with children and he has successfully created TRI and Sweetwater. IE: Life is good in Bobby Land. That being said, all you have to do is listen to the 4/15 Portchester (Night 1 at the Capitol?) Watchtower. It was very similar to the Me & My Uncle during the fall out show. Bobby just stopped singing and the band went into some tripped out jam as if intentional to cover it up. There is also the Nokia show at which a medicine mix up was blamed to realize something is going on here. I wish Bobby a speedy recovery and I hope he comes to terms with the root of the problem. While I didn't appreciate Phil's seemingly uncaring perseverance during the show, I can understand his frustration if this was a predictable occurrence. I guess what I am trying to say is that while Phil went through one liver, he has flown pretty straight since his transplant and I hate to see us losing some of his remaining shows due to avoidable circumstances. I know it took a while after Jerry's passing for Bob & Phil to see eye to eye and I think they have been making a pretty good run at things as of late. Anyway, I am just feeling antsy waiting on some word regarding the upcoming Furthur shows. I DO love Bobby and Phil, and all of you for that matter. Peace and Love.

There's just too many possibilities for Bob's fall ... maybe dehydrated, low potassium, or maybe he was slipped something w/o his knowledge? Just hope he's feeling better and will have a productive upcoming tour. I've always thought touring would be more tolerable if bands could take more days off for rest between cities, for site-seeing, or just relaxing by the pool.

whatever it was that blew into Bob's life earlier, he seems to have weathered it quite well. You look and sound great, Bob! **as usual, I'm at least 10 steps behind. Didn't realize GTed notified us about this around 30 days ago and that it actually took place on June 12th. I'm gonna be late for my own funeral, I swear!

Bob seemed bemused when John Mayer (host on Late Late Night) said that he had discovered the Grateful Dead "three years ago." Mayer said he now loves the music and listens to it for two hours a day. Mayer also asked if Bob had any memories of Jerry which elicited a shocked look on Bob's face. However, Mayer redeemed himself somewhat by playing decent guitar on Truckin' and Althea. Mayer's singing did drown out some of Bob's beautiful vocals on Truckin' and his loud guitar muddled Bob's fantastic slide work on Althea. I hope that Rat Dog tours after the July reunion concerts to showcase the incredible talents of Bob Weir.

Bob already has a date with Billy and the kids at the peach fest in the middle of August. Don't know if he b with ratdog this year but that sure would b sweet. Wherever and who ever he's with, I'll b going. Ratdog came back hot in 2014.

Think we'll see Jerry in Chicago this July ?

The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip Of Bob Weir. Many priceless moments. Sweet, touching, harrowing, sometimes all at once.

Touched me deeply. Very happy about Bobs relationship with his birth dad. Have helped others get in contact with thier birth Parents and happy to say it was very possative for both of them.

Jerry and the eel, hell the whole under water segments. "What we had was thicker than blood" and "I don't trust pride" are just a few of the highlights of this film for me. I can honestly say I was moved by it and it only made me more anxious for Santa Clara. He's gone, but the vibe still lives. Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.

I had a cassette copy of a Dead Show from the Felt Forum,Madison Square Garden,N.Y.C. cicra 1971. Mr Weir sang an excellent version of " El Paso " a Marty Robbins classic during this concert! If any body has that same show give a good listen,I think it,s done well!
