but I haven't heard from NJRipple. Will PM to get his addy. Major drag that the SHN/FLAC files have been lost. Even the hugest of vines can be copied in just a few minutes, along with text info, cover art, show photos, named tracks, and any other data that happens to be there. With audio CD's, you just get "Track 01, Track 02", etc.-Tommo

I may take longer than usual with this one, but I suspect I'll have it coming along by Monday morning. Note - we've lost the DVD's on this one - if anyone has them & can send a copy, it would make it easier on those who would normally just copy the dvd on a big vine like this.

More '74 had been burnt to DVD's, de-flaced onto CD's, packaged with notes and colorful artwork. Placed into a good (recycled) shipping box and is waiting for the Post Master to get back from lunch. (This is a small town and he comes and goes as he pleases.)Then it is off to operator and the rest of us viners. These shows are especially good (at least to my old ears). Enjoy them everyone. Peace, Rick

From the info file------"Please enjoy this tasty tidbit from Louisville, KY June 18, 1974 courtesy of some anonymous sources, as well as the collective efforts of Darrin Sacks and David Hollister Here's what we have...Lineage: S:MR>1 cass>DAT>ZA2>SHN [revised from original info file] This version sounds nothing like the previously-circulating "sbd>reel>reel>dat" version and represents a MAJOR upgrade. The music actually comes to us from two different tapes with very similar qualities. However, one tape had about the first 1 minute and 40 seconds missing on Promised Land, so I spliced it in from the other tape. The other tape had some other problems, not to mention a good portion of the between song banter cut out, so needless to say, we used the good tape for that." The first minute and 48 seconds are a little tinny to my ears but it picks up after that. Peace Rick

Does anyone else find it humorously disturbing that this much time was spent discussing and researching less than 2 minutes of PROMISED LAND!!! This isn't Dark Star we're talking about. Haha!

The Post Office has outdone itself, apparently delivering a package from one borough of NYC to another in only one day. Absolutely amazing. I'll need a few days with this. Maybe get this out by Sat but more likely Mon. Thanks Ltapilot for starting it and operator for getting it to me.

Having witnessed the 6/18/74 Freedom Hall show and being in possession of different Louisville recordings over the past 30 years, I am quite interested in knowing whether a soundboard copy actually exists that has a clean start.I find it even more interesting that there are other shows with 1st song audience source splices and/or mix/feed problems. Check the start of 5/8/77, for instance. 7" reel tape-ends fray and break over time: more likely the tape wasn't given enough lead before Betty hit the Record button. Keep searching and enjoy the wonderful soundboards as they come! Thank you Rick for your initiative. Gr8ful

This vine was mailed to reedchris at the end of last week. As I was handing this packge to the clerk at the post office, Truckin' came on on the radio they had on. I guess everything was on. Chris' package arrived here in chilly Leawood: Cloning the dvd's now and will send on to Chasmo NLT 4/16/08. Thanks to the seeder, Ltapilot: will you be at the Phil shows in Denver on 5/8-9? I'll be there and at Little Feat 5/10. May run up the hill and flyfish during the day.

I have been unable to reach Chasmo for a mailing address: If chinacat 503 will offer an address, please do! The package is rather hefty, as there are shn's on dvd as well as regular cd's. I suggest sticking with the compressed files to minimize postal costs.

So, my post office, from which i sent this vine, appears to be having some issues -- some important mail and another vine i sent from there still have not arrived at their destinations. This worries me. i'm going to try and find out what's going on there tomorrow. i'll re-copy this vine and if it doesn't arrive in a day or two i'll send it again. Sorry about this, folks. Peace, M.
