I miss the view from the vault series. If they could revive "From the Vault" why not View? My vote for next one would be 6-17-91. Just watched a you tube version of the eyes opener. Great stuff. One View release a year would do just fine (with additional DVD releases like Sunshine Daydream). The cd releases are hitting a real nice stride. Lets get some visuals too!!"Music is the best" - FZ

Yes, the sunshine daydream is way over due for release. the big complaint when I first got my release on DVD (bootleg) from the inside the circle was the kesey camp didn't want everybody to have it becuase they thought it would compete with a official release.....this was about 3 years ago or so....well, everyday that goes by without a release it's losing ground for legit copies to be sold.... oh, did I say, it's a piece of rock and roll history that should be released....I can think of maybe some material that wouldn't be suitable with all the nudity, but a disclaimer will take care of that, and possibly stir up even more publicity upon release so more copies could be sold..... I've also heard that birdsong was filmed or at least parts of it , and 2 other songs as well....that might acct. for the extra material.... as for 1989 , yes 7-7-89 is a very well played show that should meet in any requirement for legit release in my opinion....very , very well played , one of the best played shows ever....yes, don't let the set lists fool you all the time....the scarlet>fire is on fire, and the blow away set closer is very hot.....the whole show rocks very , very hard....this is a good one with high level of energy and alot of right notes Donnie L. I wish that for just one time, You could stand inside my shoes, and for just that one moment, I could be you - Bob Dylan, Positively 4th St.

I could do without the naked guy, who a)kinda grosses me out (whereas the other nudity does not) and b)seems to me so out of it that he's oblivious to the splinters and probably got quite the painful surprise when the drugz wore off. But I'll just avert my eyes. Release the darn show!

I apologize as Sunshine Daydream's been requested to death, but I must concur. I've just read on another forum that it's not the breasts or drugs that "someone" found offensive, but "that naked guy on the pole". First of all, I've always thought he was wearing shorts, lest he get splinters in a very awkward place. The guy on the pole was one of the most striking things in the film, in my humble opinion. Seeing Jerry in THE ZONE while this miniature dervish squirms on his shoulder to the cozmik sounds is SO surreal, and coupled with the lurid colors of the film, strongly reminds me of an Italian "mythology" movie. BY ZEUS, KEEP HIM IN!! (and release the film while you're at it!!)

    Agreed Hampton 89!
Yeah kkeyser27!! I agree 100%. Hampton 89 is on the top of my list. I was so close to being at those shows it kills me. I was at some Housing rally in DC the day before (Jefferson Airplane played, Stevie Wonder, and i think Mikey was there). People were talking about the "Warlocks" show but unfortunately i was in school and responsibleness prevailed. What a fool. Amazing shows. i drool about thinking of hearing them in hi-def surround sound. Please!!"Music is the best" - FZ

I still can't believe these shows have not been released on DVD and/or CDs... quite possibly the best Dead shows of the late '80's and 90's! I have seen low-fi clips from the shows on youtube, but I know there must have been some professional recording going on. Highlights: Jerry playing Wolf for the first time in forever, The first Help>Slip>Franklins in years, the first Dark Star in years, We bid you goodnight, Attics of my Life, etc etc! This would be a great latter- years DVD. And I will throw my hat in the ring for any videos from the 70's! Festival Express really was fantastic to see... what a great movie. More more more! Too much of everything just ain't enough!

Would love to see some Video from Summer 93' Shoreline had some great stuff a truly Epic Half-Step, Supplication, Brown_eyed Women and Stagger really cook. Cal Expo has plenty of stellar material, Buckeye's Jack Straw-Foolish Heart and an incredible post Drums sequence would make an excellent release. Kentucky was as good as it gets although it was indoors so video might not be available. Any of the three shows at Deer Creek would make a fine release. I think 1993 represents the bands finest output post Brent. The time off really seemed to help the band especially Jerry. Some of his best guitar work since the early eighties by far. No video or CD relase covers this brief yet powerful resurgence.

How about a documentary in the style of Festival Express based on the Europe 72 tour. Lots of live footage included in the feature movie with an extra disc of bonus live stuff. This would be awesome."Music is the best" - FZ

I will keep posting for DVD's til my fingers turn blue...its been wayyyyyy to long. After Hampton 89 my next pick would be Deer Creek 89. Very possible as i know screens were running for that show. And oh what a show. So today i ask again. DVDs please! GD surround sound is so sweet. Jerry's nose hairs must be seen to be believed! Just watched a DVD about the closing of The Fillmore West and Bill Graham's business style. In addition to an incredible two songs by The GD... Santana, Jefferson Airplane and other "groups" were showcased. July 2nd,1971 is the date of The Grateful Dead's performace... it's obvious that this whole show was filmed, complete with close up's of Jerry and Bob and split screens of the crowd and twirling girls... Rhino probably doesn't have the rigbts to this footage... but it is so good, they should try to get it whoever owns it should release it themselves..

As I stumbled out of the Oregon Country Fair on Sunday, wondering where we left the car, I asked if they filmed the 1982 show there? Also curious to know where the stage was for these shows, if anyone remembers.Would make a lovely box set-Sunshine Daydream 72 and the 10th anniversary show in 82. Just sayin........

I recently went to my local HMV and bought a bootleg DVD of this show. It cost 10 bucks and only has 7 or 8 songs on it. Other entities are making money on this by somehow getting "reputable" music stores to sell copies. So yeah... It needs to be an official release.

Not the best performance of the available 90's video screens but awesome energy because of good old mother nature.

Already seen it at meet up at the movies last year. Throw in the Music Never stopped (and the rest of the end of the 1st set cut off from Downhill on 7/17/89 as a bonus). You guys already have the footage. It sounds great. A very good show. Not on the level of SSDD, but almost nothing is.

This would be an awesome release... The soundboard isn't in circulation, at least I could never find it! The show is an absolute monster too... Playin' -> Crazy Fingers to open the first set and an incredible up-tempo Friend of The Devil to start the second set.

Please, you put it on the big screen for us. We all went to the "Dead night at the Movies". That show is complete, just waiting to be purchased and mailed to us. We need to see Jerry again, grinning at Brent and the whole band roaring that night. What are you waiting for? Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.

I know this isn't really the right forum for this but w/ the ad-hoc bands that played it's hard to find the "Right Site". What an incredible show! I didn't see a ton of shows (~20 from '73-'87), and all in the northern plains and midwest. Some were great, all but 1 were very good. This show at Red Rocks was the best. Please publish it! DVD would work. Just the music would be fine with me.

The show was filmed by ORTF (the former French national TV agency), and the original should be in the ORTF archives in the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel. Get a copy, clean it up, sync it with the SBD that was also made that night, and profit (spiritually and financially).

So little has been released from 1985 - can we have the So Far sessions released in total on video, and if you want to include all of the '85 NYE with Ken Kesey and Bill Walton and Guido Sarducci talking about USS Merrimac and Wagner himself, that'd be okay as well!

I would love to see a DVD release of the Woodstock performance. The version of Dark Star is really quite beautiful - I was listening to it and watching it on You Tube and my cat became fascinated by it and came and sat on the keyboard so as to get close to the screen. I played it many times, but now it has been removed for copyright reasons. I would love to have access to the video footage as well as the music, once again!!!

Hey, hows about we quit laming around and start releasing Summer 89' video box sets. Start with complete Alpine and go from there. Mixes need not be flat. Gets get some energy. There is such a thing as over mastering.

I am in the Boston area with an extra ticket to the movie today if someone wants it. I am going to the fenway theater. 617 686 9653

I second that emotion. Alpine '89 has to be the center. But I think a MeetUp at the Movies type box would be fantastic, similar to the All The Years Combine DVD box.

Out:
2011: GD Movie (no need)
2013: Sunshine Daydream (no need)
2018: Crimson, White, & Indigo (7/7/89, Philly)
2019: Giants Stadium Box (7/17/91)

In:
2012: 7/18/89 Alpine
2014: 4/12/72 Beat Club, Bremen, West Germany
2015: 7/19/89 Alpine
2016: 7/2/89 Sullivan Stadium
2017: 7/12/89 RFK, DC
2022: 4/17/72: Tivoli, Copenhagen (Danish TV)
2023: 6/22/91, Soldier Field, Chicago
Plus: 7/17/89 Alpine (Downhill Omits the last 2 of the first set, and this is the centerpiece of the release)

That's 8 shows. 6 complete. Add some of the others back in if you want more.

Can we get the Beat Club Europe 72 show? It would be great to have a blu ray quality release
