Hey there Y'all -
My Daughter was sorting through my records lately and found two unusual records (seem to be from a radio broadcast in 1981 on the NBC young adults network). If these are of value to the archive I would be glad to send them to the right person.
Thanks

Wendy - I can't give you an answer, but I can tell you it's being discussed. I personally agree with you, that the most recent should be on top. I can also tell you that's it going to be one way or the other - can't have it both ways.
If I could find my own posts so I can keep up with those threads I've entered. I can't remember where I was.
Marye - something like the "check messages" or "Message center". Forgive me if you already talked about this someplace and its been addressed and I'm sure if you could you would.
Like for this question, I suspose I am going to have write down where I asked it so I can check for the answer.
and BTW, just where am I?
Thanks, Rose
Hey now, Rose-- if you go to your own profile page (click My Account on the left there) you'll see a section on the right of that page called User's Recent Posts, which is a partial solution to the problem you're talking about. However, partial is the operative term, as my Recent Posts seem to reflect the reality of several days ago.
A more complete solution would be a good thing, and I'll pass that along. (I'll also email this to you so you don't have to slog through so much).
As for the issue of being taken straight to new-to-you posts, let's just say that in my morning report to the higher-ups I said that that issue and the fact of responses appearing out of chronological order are officially at the top of the Pain Point list. So the tech team is aware of the problem and I fervently hope we have a solution soon. Thank you for your kind patience...
Love the look of new site.... but the post fonts and spacing is so large that it is hard to read with all the scrolling one needs to do... makes my eyes hurt!!
Please reduce the size so you get 4 or 5 posts visible at least at a time.. right now it is 1 or 2 at most...
thanks.

sorry response to your emails is slow. If Iknew the answer I'd tell you. I suspect they're swamped and, like us, trying to get things working right, but I'm sorry and I'll mention the issue.
I don't know if i'am at the right section of the site, so, please let me try. Why do i have to pay $35 to buy an order of $39 (vault three, t-shirt)? Can't i recieve it by ordinary mail? Idon't care to receive it in 4-6 weeks, the price is very good.
Thank you, Richard.
Did you get rid of the Dead radio stream from the old site? Do you offer any streams at all?
With regard to the streams and many other features, there are many enhancements in the queue and I don't know which are likely to come first. Hence if streams are a big issue to you, please weigh in using the fine Feedback link at the bottom of the page.
With regard to the Store, let's just say they're coping with a few issues and we're working with them to establish a better communication channel. My personal advice, if you don't NEED to order something right this minute, you might give it a week for the dust to settle a bit. If you're already having issues, and you've emailed customerservice@deadnetstore.com already and not heard back, send me or izzie the details and we'll get it to someone who can help. Thanks and sorry for all the trouble.
Hi
Aud has started a very cool thread, that is difficult to find...any chance it could be reloacted...like the home page? ( or at least a link to the forum on the home page)
the tech team has a lot on its plate.
Down the line, no telling what might happen. Hold that and all similar thoughts!
If you bookmark the topic, it might be easier to find:

A couple questions --
on main Forum page, only "The Scene" subtopics are listed. how come?
when going to a specific topic and clicking on "# new" you go to the first post, not the newest one. can/will this be changed?
1. Re The Scene, the short answer is that the subtopics are actually Forums (don't ask) because we were still getting the hang of some tools. This actually reflects a layer of complexity we don't need, but hey, a learning experience.
2. We sure hope so. It is reported early and often, and on the to-do list.
I don't have "Recent Posts" on the right side of my profile, only the shows I've marked as attended so far. I've believe I've seen recent posts only once, on someone else's profile.Do I need to set something differently to show them?
Hey now, Wendy. I'm not trying to be smartypants here, but look on the left menu area, under Dead Community. Is there not an All Recent Posts button, above Member Map? I have a non-mod account here (shhhh.....) and I have that feature, so I'm thinking everyone else does too. Am I crazy?
Yes, but that shows ALL recent posts..I'm talking about this..
"Hey now, Rose-- if you go to your own profile page (click My Account on the left there) you'll see a section on the right of that page called User's Recent Posts, which is a partial solution to the problem you're talking about. which was marye's answer to Rose's question about how to get back where you left off instead of having to scroll through the entire history (or click "last" and then scroll back) of a folder to get to things you haven't read yet. I'm not seeing "User's Recent Posts" on my profile or anyone else's. I did see it one time, on one profile, and haven't seen it since.
is editing our posts turned off for good?

Wendy - thanks for clearing that up for me and sorry for not getting it the first time! I have it on both of my accounts - it's under the Shows Attended section there on the right. Can anyone else let me know if they don't have that feature? It doesn't work great, and takes me back to where I'd last posted in a few forums, but that's something at least. I like using the All Recent Posts and sorting by Forum to see what is new for me that way.
and Mindbender - yeah, for now. Editing was a concern for the changing-history thing, and because it was hooked in the code with Reply and that was behind the weird chronology of posts issue that folks were asking about. It is being looked at and worked on though to see if the magic-fingered folks can find a way to do 30-minute editing or something without it messing anything else up. Bottom Line: it's a software thing.
I swear, I'm seeing a perfectly normal User's Recent Posts on my profile too. Every bit as ill-behaved as izzie says, but there. Perhaps an obscure bug is involved here.
If the problem persists, please let us know (also what browser you're using and anything else you can think of that might be relevant) and we'll pass it to the wizards for examination...
Nope.. it's definitely not on mine. I'm using the ATT/Yahoo browser. Yesterday I looked at the profile of someone who'd just introduced themselves and under their "website" was "N/A" (underlined) which I clicked, and THAT took me to 'user's recent posts'. But it didn't show up on the front page of their profile.
AIl that's on mine is 'shows attended', the "more" button just displays more shows.
Just for kicks I just tried putting "n/a" on the website space in my profile, of course it woudn't let me do that, it highlighted it red and didn't take.
lol... the location map on my profile puts me on the equator just off the coast of Camaroon. And I thought I was in California all this time.
The system obviously knows there are posts that I have not viewed yet in some topics under "All recent posts" , and none in others.... Can't it go directly to the new ones instead of the very beginning of every discussion?
And after you post a message, must it go back to day one of the discussion instead of just back to the post you just made?
Just wondering....
Having to scroll though the enitire history of a topic to view new posts could get quite cumbersome as the history grows.
marye, when I look at YOUR profile, "user's recent posts" IS there. Just not on mine or pretty much anyone else's I've looked at.
So there are no edit or delete buttons either, just like thre is no way to kill the account. So....once something is written here it is written in stone unless the all powerful want to delete it? Am I understanding this correctly?
Whoops! I did some poking around and it seems about a random split as to who has Users Recent Posts and who doesn't. The fix-it folks are aware and are figuring it out.
Forum? Like Ratdog is being streamed live RIGHT NOW and I would have loved to post that in some prominent place - like at deadnetcentral.com I would have posted it in the lot - of course, they all know about it.
Anyway, where is a good place here.
BTS the link is Ratdog at Bonnaro
Issie, surely you must know how to delete one's account can only the proctors do it?
NoName - wish I could help you out here, but I can't. If you would like, send me a PM and I'll see about individually deleting all of your posts. Then, you could close your eyes and scramble your password so that you can't come back in. That would effectively eliminate your presense here, if that's really what you want to do. In the mean time, if there's something we can do to make your stay here more pleasant, please let us know.
I am pretty sure that an account wipe-out will be coming along, as the site continues to develop.
how do I upload a picture?

If you check the Family Links section in Community, in the menu on the left, you'll find quite a few band member sites.

What happened to those? If they still exist and will be added to where are they? I am unable to find them in the store.
Charlie
Maybe I'm missing something, but I went to the "My Shows" link and nothing came up, also cannot find a link for "Fan Photos"Can anyone provide direct links for these 2 areas?
coffee-deficit, sorry.
fan-photo uploading is offline temporarily. Something went south in the recent server upgrade, and that function should be restored soon. It's all in MaryE's FAQ sheet, too. off to find an answer for bssgrl.
How do I change my time stamp which appears when I post? It is currently 8:10am here in Philly...
NuPotato, time stamps are done by the server, as I understand the process, and the server is on Pacific time. I don't think there's an individual fix for that.
I have been listening to the show at the Fillmore East on May 15th.1970. There are 2 versions available for streaming but the set lists are very different.
The Dead.net web site does not list any set list at all.
So what is the deal, Who's right, Archive.org or is the set list from wolfgangs vault correct.
Warf Rat 99
Offhand it sounds like one source or another has the wrong date.
