Notwithstanding the title, flowers in your hair are not quite the fashion statement they once were, but in the springtime...

    A show for the Badger...
Hmmm, I think I'll speak to the boys and suggest a Furthur gig at the Cow Palace, possibly with a modern reconstruction of the Wall of Sound, as per CB's request to arrange a "show or two". I can't guarantee this will happen, but I'll give it my best shot. They did it once, who knows, maybe they'll give it another go. This one, if they do it, will be considerably more than the $2.00 ticket price for the March '74 show there (DP24). Maybe it could be done as a benefit for the Rex Foundation? Do two shows, or maybe even three, and a sellout is a sure thing. Think about it...

Joe Miller walk in GG park
If you want to have a leisurely day in GG Park and then down to the ocean with a bunch of long hairs and other assorted spiritual flotsam and jetsam. It is nominally run by the sufis, but they'reglad to incorporate a little bit of everything. They stop and sing songs, do astrology, feed the ducks, etc.. They start at the arboretum at 9th and Lincoln at noon. A larger part of the community comes out for their lunch hour in the park. Those who have the time continue on through the park and end up in the Sunset district at the beach where Joe Miller, the old guy who started this thing before he died, used to buy ice cream for everybody. Don't know if any of this still happens but I'm sure the sufis will remember the Joe Miller walk. It used to be one of the juiciest things happening in SF when I lived in the Bay area in the early 80s.

a week from today. A bud and I are going to do the SF 1/2 maraton - his 1st, my 3rd. Of course, I'll be making a stop or two at Amoeba and marauding the streets of North Beach and the Missions. I love the two hour time-zone thing - I'm from St. Louis - and the feeeel of the pristine skies and cooool temps. Oh, lawdy! The coolest thing is my family and I (and daughter's boyfriends - more than one daughter) were very recently in Hilton Head, S.C. Two different universes in a month!!!So if you see a bald Italian and a tan Irishman, be sure to say hola, y'all!

I grew up in Ohio, lived in Colorado for 15 years, and now live in Adelaide, South Australia. In 3 weeks my wife, three step kids(15,14,10), mother/ father-in-law and I will be in San Francisco starting a nine week holiday taking us all over the U.S. San Fran is my favorite city in the states. This will be the first trip for my family. We just have 4 days there, but have much planned. After that we head to Vegas, Denver, South Carolina, Atlanta, Orlando, back north to D.C., New York, Niagra Falls, Ohio, Tennesse, then back to S.C. to fly back here to Adelaide. A trip of a lfetime for the kids and hopefully they will see the real America rather than the hollywood version. See ya soon.
