In the basement, shall I leave it by your gate, if I go down dyn
I have always liked Bob Dylan's style, grew up in that kind of enviornment, and I often sing in that same style. WARNING: long load time 397k sample at http://www.archure.net/mp3/ArchureNetSpliff.mp3 with Dial Up its like 5 minutes load time. I was jamming with Alex Van Halen (and Eddie) at Sammy Hagars audition, and Alex and Eddie let my try out first (just so I could tell everyone I tried out too), and I sang in a Bob Dylan style. Well, Sammy Hagar got the job, but they liked my singing.
And of course I am a Mike Bloomfield fan (he played with Dylan, in the early days), and I saw Mike Bloomfield a couple of times in the Bay Area late 60's early 70's (and was a fan of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band), which leads us to Elvin Bishop, who is so great (dad gum your hide, calling all cows). But back to Bob Dylan, I finally got to see Bob in Irvine CA I think it was, back around the 80's. I've been poor most of my life, so I don't have every Dylan CD/tape/33.3/45 same with the Dead
My FAVORITE KAREOKE thing to do is Eagles "Take it to the limit" sung in Bob Dylan Style "takeittothe limit, One Moooore Tam" (after a few drinks), usually at Alexis Park in Las Vegas (just behind Ballys a long block, with green neon, great place, and cheap enough). So with Dylans newer CD with all that old time stuff, he has gone into his second childhood, but I got the CD and I like to play my electronic drums along with it.

Joan Baez
One cant help but remember Joan Baez when one considers early Bobby Dylan I attended a Quaker boarding school in the 1960's run by Foy and Elizabeth Van Dolsen (full story http://www.archure.net/psychology/thefarm.html ) and they often played early Dylan, and Blue Grass (the neighbors the Dimitroffs had a great bluegrass collection), and Joan Baez used to stop by and visit, I got to meet her (I was around age 11, and she promised to marry me when I became 18), and I got to hear her sing, close up. Well not so long ago, I think I saw her trying out accoustic guitars at the Guitar Center in Las Vegas, and she looked at me, like she didn't know who I was, but she knew that she knew me somehome, I started to come over, but that sort of scared her, so I smiled and left. We used to listen to her albums too, back in 1964-66, Farewell Angelina was a favorite. Oh they wished you had accepted, the blame for the farm, but with the sea at your feet and the phony false alarm.... your Arabian drum, should I leave it by your gate?
