I'd've been right there with Hunter T. shooting deer guns at propane cylinders if given the chance, or getting liquored up and playing a round of skeet-golf, or unloading the belt on the 50 cal at the old junk cars full of dynamite. Kaboom. "Hunter S. Thompson probably had a lot more than Mr. Popper does." No doubt, and bigger ones too. It's that whole "secret compartments in the car" thing that's a little freaky to me, and carrying so many around at once. With night vision goggles and a taser. Whatever. I'm bored. ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

we can always agree to disagree, as americans we are allowed to do that, constitution says so. we should always respect the opinions of others anyway. i do lean towards pid's point....ain't nobody's business, including the government's so i don't go for registration. that just gives the bastards a list by which they can confiscate and that's the first thing a dictatorship does is disarm the citizens. so far we are citizens and not subjects. in order to legally purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer in this country you must pass a background check which is fine with me, keeps the things out of the hands of violent criminals,(murderers, rapists, etc.)but the common criminal is not gonna buy from a gun store or a gun show because of the background check done by the fbi with their database. they buy them off the street, stolen and otherwise. restrict normals citizens and the bad guys still get their guns.....i keep them for defense.....and pls don't believe everything you hear about the n.r.a.....it's mostly a group of people that believe in their right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the constitution. man i wish i had some cake....or a cookie.....or a cookie AND some cake. i think they promote non-violent acts. and i seem to remember reading about a pistol in jerry' s bust but that can't be cuz with the amount of dope he had he would have been locked up for a long long time. part of the community service he was required to do was put on a free show for the military. garcia band did a free show on board the uss carl vinson, where i was stationed at the time....unfortunately i had to fly home on emergency leave as my mother was dying....terminal brain cancer, so not only did i miss the show, i lost my mom as well.................guess i better quit ranting now....this tangent got rather large.

I don't own any guns myself, but friends of mine do and they like to go deer and elk hunting. Gun sales have sky-rocketed since the election. I don't mind poppin off a few rounds once in a while. Hunter S. Thompson probably had a lot more than Mr. Popper does.

getting about that time of year to head out on the road again for a few months... so for now, I'll leave you with this: CC's Gone CC's been drinking, out on a binge No reason why, but just on a whim Now he is shitfaced, on a plane Flying away, he's just insane And now CC's gone Now CC's gone, Lord he's gone CC's gone With an elbow bending, it's a binge in fact CC's gone, gone, but someday he'll be back CC's gone A member of the club 'Mile High' His old lady letting out a great big 'sigh' Playing 9 ball, he can't lose Nothing left to do but booze, booze, booze... And now CC's gone Now CC's gone, Lord he's gone CC's gone Going where the there is no rain at all On a dry farm until fall Dug one well, made a ditch The muscles in his back are starting to bitch Again, CC's been drinking, out on a binge No reason why, but just on a whim Now he is shitfaced, on a plane Flying away, he's just in-sane And now CC's gone Now CC's gone, Lord he's gone CC's gone Ooh, one day CC's gonna be back Ooh, one day CC's gonna be back Ooh, one day CC's gonna be back

I've thought about this situation on and off today with numerous different feelings / reactions and I'm going with my old standby: "You can only be a victim if you admit defeat" - Thats a line from a Descendents tune. The title of that song could be "Coolidge" but I'm not certain. Either way, the point remains that you and you alone are in control of how other's actions react with you. Its not the same thing as being "thick skinned". Its actually more like empathy. You need to step inside of his shoes for a minute and you'll probably find that you pity him much like Frodo and Bilbo pitied Smeagol. Face it, he made a deliberate attempt to mess with you and, to be perfectly honest, if I was looking at houses and I stumbled into a GD shrine complete with GD being played and posters, etc. I'd mess with the heads, too. Basically, because I'd have the understanding that deadheads are typically kind of out there and open to all kinds of kooky possibilities. However, I definitely wouldn't have made light of the passing of Jerry Garcia (rest his jammin' soul) out of respect for the heads in question. Yep, he did that to be a jerk and he succeeded, but we should all be laughing at his lack of understanding of the music. Which, while I'm philosophizing and quite loquacious, I'll add that deadheads are a potential turn-off for me sometimes. I just wanna hear the notes played. The kind of maniacally obsessive religiosity that some heads exude is simply too much for me at times. (some of you reading this may be in this category, but, for real, I mean no offense!) But hey, thats me. In fact, watching some of the footage of their shows lessens the musical effect for me, sometimes, but when I just put my ears on, well, shoot, I could listen for ages on end. I should shut up...now. | Wait until the veil is shredded, then reveal it |

Cheryl Crow video called "Out Of Our Heads" a pretty cool song and they show Jerry in it giving a peace sign :) right after these lyrics...Every man is his own prophet Oh every prophet just a man I say all the women stand up, say yes to themselves Teach your children best you can Let every man bow to the best in himself We're not killing any more We're the wisest ones, everybody listen 'Cause you can't fight this feeling any more, oh anymore If we could only get out of our heads, out of our heads And into our hearts Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your Tears and look to your heart

I just received the news the Philly Spectrum will be demolished early next year and be replaced with a mall and restaurants. "And the times they are a-changin". It was my home venue through high school in the 80's. A lot of good memories will go down with that building. The most memorable was in 1986. I was normally a hallway dancer, but this show I dug my way to about the 4th row in between Phil and Bob and and saw first hand Jerry lose touch with himself and his guitar totally took over his body. It was a Morning Dew out of space and Jerry did not look like the pillar of health coming out after drums. He was sweaty and shaking, but kicked into the most soulful rendition of Dew that I ever witnessed firsthand. (I believe it was my 1st Dew too). His guitar played him....I was convinced. I had tears in my eyes for the first time at a show. I was so blown away. Dew ended and the Band went off the stage. I didn't really comprehend the show was over, until the faithful in Philly started booing the Dead post encore. THE BOO'ed the DEAD. I was flabergasted. Never before and never again. Never a dull moment. I will miss the Filthy Spectrum.
