all the passes are at 29 degrees, while the lower elevations are getting rain. temp was 42 until 7 am and then went to 38 here in Tacoma. of course nothing like the inundation occurring in the east.

here in central Ontario - record highs for this time of year. The first week of April usually yields our last snowfall of the year, not mid 20C. Nobody's complaining, though my body feels it's strange. Not a lot of water in the system - the melt was way early - the maple sap run has been interrupted, on & off again. Wierd weather...

It's been 55 and showery in the heartland, with Whatcom weather coming in on Thursday night: could be our last snow. My son is flying out to SeaTac to consider putting his Kitsap rental house on the market. He had the misfortune of buying "high" in 2005, and now walks the tightrope of keeping the value above the mortgage obligation. Cool wet weather out there will restrict him to indoor projects and never-ending blackberry vine-cutting!! At least Silverdale Brewery is up the road where he can find a tall glass of Whoopass!

Somewhere on the wetlands of Whatcom County in the state of Washington the progression of the seasons has lost it's way....Spring arrived late January/early February, now winter is back with a vengeance. It is ten p.m. and the temperature has plummeted to 39 degrees and there is the threat of a dusting of snow in the Mt. Baker foothills....

to our East coast friends! The weather's been pretty darn heavenly in the Bay Area the last few days; the smoke from the fires seems to be going elsewhere.

85F at 6AM? And pushing 100% humidity? What a great day for the quarter and semi final rounds of my club championship. Hopefully it will melt my competitors instead of me. My alarm clock went off at the crack of dawn. I changed it from disturbingly annoying bleating to commercial radio. And instantly on comes Scarlet. I'm taking that as a good sign! And how do I mark my Titleist? With a red and blue bolt, of course... Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

woke up to rain, thunder and lightin! ahh,the desert smell so good after a storm, creosote, sage, mesquite! should make for a nice moist day, kinda feels like when you toss water on the charcol in the grill... pure heat with a wet smell, it did bring the temp down to 99* though. does make cold beer taste so much better floatin in the pool. clouds will be perfect for climbing this afternoon, must prepare myself : ) have a beautiful day peace

Humid in Phoenix: almost sounds like an oxymoron. Just did a road trip to Nashville for some honky tonkin, then down to Ft Myers to see my in-laws, followed by a long drive back to KC. Billboard images are still flashing in my brain. Corn crop looks good, so we should be able to make more ethanol and pay higher food prices. KC today is 94 in the shade, and my yard looks like a blow torch hit it: the lush green spring growth is OVER! I'll be out doing CPR on my tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and bush beans. "... I knew right away she was not like other girls....other girls'..."

Here in Virginia we are baking in dry heat--relatively low humidity for this area--in the 90s for the past 3 days. Only a few small cumulus clouds & no rain or much wind... "The sky was yellow & the sun was blue..." Jay

62 degrees at 10 AM here on the Oregon coast with the fog starting to burn up. It usually stays in the 60's during the summer on the coast. But if you want it hot all ya gotta do is head up the river a few miles and it will be in the 70's, a few miles more and it's in the 80' s, and keep going and you'll hit the 90's and be ready for swimmin. Get to hot and just head back to the coast and nature's air-conditioning cools you off. I love it!

Ike roared through Erie yesterday, bringing 40mph sustained winds and gusts over 50mph. I'm glad we don't live near the coast lines I feel for you people. Not only the winds but the rains as well. Positive vibes for the folks that live in Texas all the way up through the Ohio valley.
