there should be a "Reckoning Vol. 2"
10/7/80 is a show i have never heard. excellent acoustic set. Brent's keys play a big role (ever heard the harpsichord in China Doll?) Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie has been left off of Reckoning CDs, which is a shame. you know this life I'm livin' is mighty high

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have a big old batch of Brent-era Dead, from 1980, 1985 and 1988.

Our first stop this week is on 10/7/80 at the Warfield in San Francisco, where we have the entire first set, played acoustically, featuring Iko Iko, Dark Hollow, Rosalie McFall, Money and the Engineer, To Lay me Down, Heaven Help The Fool, Deep Elem Blues, El Paso, Ripple. This has long been a favorite acoustic '80 set, with the rare Iko Iko and El Paso acoustic versions.

Next up is the end of the show from 11/8/85 in Rochester, NY, with a great sequence of The Other One>I Need A Miracle>She Belongs To Me>Sugar Magnolia; Satisfaction. This was an excellent tour, and worth checking out in more depth if you have the time and inclination.

Lastly this week, from 9/8/88 in Philadelphia, we have the end of the second set, with a great sequence of The Wheel>I Need A Miracle>Dear Mr. Fantasy>Hey Jude>Lovelight, Black Muddy River. This show followed the four nights at the Capital Centre, which featured the hugely surprising Ripple encore on 9/3/88.

Be sure to stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.

Hoped I would wake up to a special surprise announcement today. No such luck I guess. Even though I have several excellent quality copies I wonder if they are ever going to do anything special with this mind blowing performance. Would love to see a box set with remastered audio and the film. Let's go !!

is absolutely beautiful! reminds me so much of amer. beauty and work. dead. it seems to me that when they play acoustically, the lyrics and their vocals are more of the focus instead of the instruments. jer's voice is in prime shape here. love being able to hear the banter from the audience and the band too. the little flubberdoo on ripple is priceless.

David,Thanks for the acoustic music. I imagine there has to be some more nuggets from that run that are worthy of a Dave Picks release. Cheers.

You have healed me from the woeI experience when a clip I'm grooving ends. Spending the afternoon @ the Warfield in 1980 has been so so very wondrous; the entire clip just terrific. Acoustic listening is amazing. ----------------------------(-----@ I grew up singing with a great gang of acoustic players and this has reminded me of those old days too. Thinking of Levon with Deep Elem Blues. I just love him rocking this one too. Thanks will never be enough...so go now and count to 3 trillion saying I'm receiving thanks... each-time and you'll get close but never really near there, xo. You are appreciated! Thank you or Thanks, will just have to do, xo! Never has there been a note I didn't want to hear. Keep 'em coming and I'll be right here... to listen next week. much love to you... I Love You, xo All xo --------------------------------------------(----@

I really don't want to jinx it, but since the launch of the new website, I'm able to hear the Taper's Section each week. I'm a little behind the times, my phone is my only internet access. Before I could only read about the weekly selections, and though still enjoyable, now I'm able to appreciate this feature on a much more thrilling level. Thanks, so much
