Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have a big old batch of Brent-era Dead, from 1980, 1985 and 1988.
Our first stop this week is on 10/7/80 at the Warfield in San Francisco, where we have the entire first set, played acoustically, featuring Iko Iko, Dark Hollow, Rosalie McFall, Money and the Engineer, To Lay me Down, Heaven Help The Fool, Deep Elem Blues, El Paso, Ripple. This has long been a favorite acoustic '80 set, with the rare Iko Iko and El Paso acoustic versions.
Next up is the end of the show from 11/8/85 in Rochester, NY, with a great sequence of The Other One>I Need A Miracle>She Belongs To Me>Sugar Magnolia; Satisfaction. This was an excellent tour, and worth checking out in more depth if you have the time and inclination.Lastly this week, from 9/8/88 in Philadelphia, we have the end of the second set, with a great sequence of The Wheel>I Need A Miracle>Dear Mr. Fantasy>Hey Jude>Lovelight, Black Muddy River. This show followed the four nights at the Capital Centre, which featured the hugely surprising Ripple encore on 9/3/88.
Be sure to stop by next week for more tunes from the vault.
