    Thanks Slo
For the quote from Mr. Hofmann. All of us owe a large debt of gratitude to him. He gave us the soma of the gods and we launched a revolution to change the world. And, as Hunter S. Thompson said, "With the right kind of eyes you can look out into the Pacific Ocean and see where the wave peaked..." Jerry bore the psychedelic cross Albert created for 30 long years. In the end even he couldn't turn the tide. Did we help enough?

"It gave me an inner joy, an open mindedness....... a gratefulness........ open eyes and an internal sensitivity for the miracles of creation. .....I think in human evolution it has never been as necessary to have this substance LSD. It is just a tool to turn us into what we are supposed to be." -Dr Albert Hofmann, part of a speech given by him on his 100th birthday Today marks the 70th anniversary that chemist extraordinaire Dr. Hofmann - on a hunch! - synthesized LSD 25 at Sandoz Laboratories for the second time in human history and accidentally absorbed an amount small enough to produce a couple hours of effects, which led him to intentionally take 250 mcg. 3 days later and take his famous bicycle ride home. "Thank you" seems so shallow......

and then there's George's theory of war....
"War is nothing more than old men standing in fields and waving their pricks at one another. It all boils down to this: men are insecure about the size of their dicks so they have to kill one another over the idea. That's what all of that male posturing, macho, asshole, jock-bullshit is all about........dick fear. .....You don't have to be a historian or political scientist to see the bigger dick-foreign policy theory at work...What? They have bigger dicks? Bomb them!! And of course all of the bombs and the rockets and the bullets are all shaped like dicks. It's a subconscious need to project the penis into other people's affairs. It's called fucking with people!!" -George Carlin

Offering prayers 11 years after 9/11, realizing, by their very act of giving of up all claim to truth in the word, that they have found the key to defeat all that evil. (I think I just blew my mind!)

Realizing that offering prayers to counteract evil in the world as evidenced by 9/ll, (by their very action of praying for an end to such evil acts) is in itself the end of evil.

where he lived and was inspired to write the "sand county almanac", are situated along the wisconsin river and, luckily, are a short drive from where i live. me and friends have hiked (and day-tripped :)) around there several times in past years and always get a wonderful vibe from that beautiful place. aldo's efforts have left a beautiful and thoughtful environmentally conscious legacy for future generations.

'The poets are supposed to liberate the words - not chain them in phrases. Who told the poets they were supposed to think? Poets are supposed to sing and to make words sing. Writers don't own their words. Since when do words belong to anybody? "Your very own words", indeed! And who are you?' - Brion Gysin

'The ability to soft-boil an egg is not regarded as a virtue in Spain. The more pervious a culture is to Surrealism, the less preoccupied it is with the least imaginative thing you can do with an egg.
