Went up on the mountain last night. Ran into a "Sirius Fire" the last couple miles. It was smokin! Came out to Gomorrah from a show a couple months before the first time I saw Jerry live which was J.G.B. at the Capito Theatre in Passaic, N.J. 1977 . If you could ever play that show it would be a trip. Also wondering if dgans could find the acoustic Jerry gospel with,uh oh brain drain, Jackie and Gloria? singing backup. Itwas a GD Hour a few summers ago. Would be nice to hear again some Sunday morning. Other than that thanks for the jams! And I bid you goodnight.

I recently signed up for a Sirius radio internet subscription and I have been listening to the Grateful Dead station non stop. I isten at work and I listen when I get home. The outdoor concerts all weekend long during Memorial Day weekend was awesome. I heard some awesome shows that I never heard before and was having a hard time walking away to go outside. David Gans, Gary Lambert and David Lemieux and anyone else having a say in programing or hosting a program are doing a great job. I notice there seems to be alot of other cool music stations on Sirius and one of these days I will check them out. Right now I am too busy jamming to the Dead channel. Rock on!

The sound is excellent on 4-27-85 Frost Amp.
The guy who blended, or mixed, the tapes did a grate job. Thanks for the interview at the beginning also, you both explained the process very clearly. The musicians all sound excellent, but Phil really sounds extra crispy. A super show from an incredible venue, what's not to love? I got it cranked to 11 right now. So if ya got the time, can you please do the rest of the tapes like this one? Thank you...

Chris - Thank you for your kind words about Sirius 32! "Sirius Disorder" was the old name of channel 32. There is some major system-wide thing that has to happen in order to get the name changed on the sets; I don't know when that's going to happen, but it will happen eventually. I love my Sirius
Greetings all! I purchased a Sirius subscription shortly after the premier of The Dead Channel on Sirius. I can't think of the last time that I got as much enjoyment out of a toy purchase than my Sirius. We take it with us everywhere we go when we travel and have it installed in both our vehicles. My wife's family lives six hours from us and we no longer have to pack and unpack music for our trips. From time to time I have to remind myself that there are some 180 other channels and I will play around with the news talk stations, Elvis, Frank and especially the 80's channel with the MTV VJ's! I have hundreds of tapes and discs of Grateful Dead shows that I used to parade around with all over the place. Since I purchased my Sirius, they do little more than collect dust in my basement. It is very freshing to not have a half dozen random sets in the back seat of the vehicle at all times. For me, Sirius has taken my radio listening experience to a new level and I hardly listen to FM radio anymore. I would not mind the merger with XM but for selfish reasons as I want the MLB package before the start of the baseball season. I see that David Gans posts on this thread from time to time. A question for you David: I understand that Disorder was the name of the channel before The Dead took over. Do you think you can do anything to get the folks at Sirius to change the name of our channel from Disorder to The Grateful Dead Channel? My wife and I enjoy listening to you and your input with the programming. Chris

The two vehicles I have (2014 VW and 2013 Ford) both have Sirius in them I am not an over the top audiophile, but the sound quality on the GD channel satellite broadcast is poor. Very Compressed, muddy and un-dynamic....it is painful to listen to at times, esp on the live material The internet feed at home evidently has a higher bitrate and sounds a whole lot better, crisp and clear I want to support the band beyond description and really enjoy the programming (esp Tales of the Golden RD). It would be grate if GDinc could work with sirius to improve the sound quality of the broadcasts, as my gut is telling me it is not the source material, but rather the satellite transmission

They offer a sound quality upgrade but why shouldn't it all be high quality? Sirius is living in the past. The GD channel is the bomb but the Sirius/XM tech is out of date, think Pandora has it on them. Sucks I am a lifetime Sirius subscriber. No wiggle room when it comes to the poor quality of their product. 24/7 GD music is nice but thats all I like about Sirius. Just my opinion. And thats nothing to shake a stick at

I am wondering if anyone knows what the song/date is for the music played in the background while Dave is doing his intro on today in grateful dead history on SiriusXM. I don't mean the late 60s Dark Star but the music that sounds like a supercharged Fire on the Mountain jam but with early 70s guitar tone/phrasing. I actually emailed DL about this but the music is added by SiriusXM people and he doesn't listen to the show. Anybody know what I am talking about??? It's driving me crazy so somebody please help me out! :)

So Many Roads Conference Co-organizers Nicholas Meriwether and Michael Parrish will be talking about the conference today at 2PM PDT on Sirius XM's Grateful Dead channel on the channel's talk show, Tales from the Golden Road, which is co-hosted by Gary Lambert and David Gans.

Interesting organ playing from Keith from the Nassau Coliseum on 9/7/73 during the Truckin' jam going into drums. I'd never heard this before! Tune in today during the GD History segment at 6 pm central, or anytime if you have an internet log-in subscription.

A few months ago, I was listening to Alligator being played on Sirius XM. About halfway through it, another song started playing, abruptly ending Alligator. It was jarring and certainly not what we expect from a radio station that pretends to understand its listeners. I went to the Sirius website and complained but never received a reply. I don’t know whether anyone else has noticed any bad edits from Sirius, but if you do, I encourage you to give ‘em feedback.

Never heard this before, nice first set, with a breezy easy feel. Mean Jerry slide on Litle Red Rooster, sweet Bird Song.
