Andy was a model deadhead in his belief system or principals. Jerry would of have been proud to call him friend , he never wanted to be a typical fan or hassle anyone at anytime. He was my music partner we went to so many shows together , the ones on my profile is a small sampling. His knowledge of the music and the Dead plus numerous other band community was like a library of knowledge , The vault people could of used Andy. The following is his Obit and the DEADHEADS worldwide weather you knew him or not, should heed to his passing. His story is 30 years plus and amazing. It would take more space than I'm provided to tell the story from beginning to end. I have been given his music collection , which is quite extensive in tapes as well as CD's , Probably more than 3000 pieces or more. I will be cataloging this collection of live shows and all. The following is the OBIT , My Tears have flown for three days now since I found out. Yesterday was the big day for the furneral and being with his family. I m hoping one of you out theremight be able to help me. I followed the dead full time from 89-94 and met, fell in love with Otter/Derek. We got married at mile high stadium and tyler gave me away and wrecking crew gave a big party after in a sweet room. Roach motel folks were there too! Turtle is Otter/Dereks brother. Sadly...i was around when things got dark and people got strung out on bad things. i wont go into detail on a public forum lol. Lets say nothing good can come out of the Chelsea hotel in those days. Otter and I grew apart and I went to college and grew much older...never forgetting him or my the life i lived. I would so dearly love to reconnect with anyone from back in the day. Especially somoene who could tell me anything about Otter/derek or turtle (he would def know what happened to him). Ill list the folks we knew back then maybe it will ring a bell for someone.Otter, Turtle, Fast Eddie, Gracie, Hawaian Ed, ira, Fast Eddie, Crispy, mayla, Tyler, Rover from the haight id so love to hear from you, roach, TIGGER...you and i traveled together when we first started out!!!, morgan, poet, spacecat i love you, jim, michelle from san diego, spree, diamond fire......i hope this is enough.

Dennis McNally talked to the people who owned the house, in about 1980; I think it's in the Grateful Dead Reader. I think your best path is the property tax records, though, as the place may well have changed hands since then.

Hello.I am sure some of you might have heard of the unidentified decedent "Jason Doe". He supposedly attended the Grateful Dead summer 1995 concerts on june 24 and june 25 of. He died in a car crash june 26 and has never been identified. So please take a moment to look at the information by googling "Jason doe" and if you knew a Caroline O. or a Caroline T. or a Jason maybe you have some information that might help bring him home. Since I am uncertain of the site policies about links in comments I hope you will be willing to do a Google search yourself if you know someone or something relevant. I apologize if this has already been discussed on the forums but I feel like someone here might be able to help. Thank you!

Hi Sarah,I have just been contacted by one of my old friends from Dead Tour. You have been talking with him,Larry, about finding your father,Windancer.I could only find this posting from you as he did not give me your current connection?Hopefully you will get this?My husband and I are very close to your father. His real name is Jonathan Timmer, yes,AKA,Windancer, when we were on tour.Your father was a unique/essentric individual. He has had some rough times in his life....which is why we have stayed friends, and been close,to support and help him.I guess you know now he has found out you are looking for him.....and it has affected him deeply. He definitely would like to connect...You are the only blood relative he knows of,as he was adopted out as a small child, born to traveling gypsies, who could not raise him.He went through Vietnam, which affected him greatly. He joined the Dead family as a sense of community, and we were all a tight knit community....if you have not received the info for him yet please respond and we can connect you with him,My name is Lesly, hope we connect?

Yeah you.....
You stole my brand new Dead shirt I just bought and pulled through my belt loop while I was in line at the gate at Alpine Valley in '85.
I felt a tug, turned around and you were long gone.
So not cool!

the line "all i know is i could not leave her there", you said, "that's my favorite line in that song and a good voice".
i wish i would have got your info but, i was late to start a rim to rim hike. darn it. you, pretty lady, cross my
mind of regrets from time to time. perhaps it wasn't meant to be or, perhaps you are my destiny!!

Anyone know Ripper? Or his whereabouts? I'm an old friend from the early 90's who's looking to reconnect w/ Ripper. I grew up in NY and moved to San Francisco in 1991 with another Deadhead buddy. I met Ripper one morning laying in the bed of his Toyota pickup in the campgrounds at the Eugene shows. I was stumbling around one early morning after the show and started jawing w/ him. He asked me if I wanted a Guinness? It was about 8am. That was the beginning a wild fucking day and a long friendship. We partied the rest of that weekend and probably met back up when we returned to the Bay Area. From there he said, Let's drive to the shows in Vegas. Hell yeah! It was most likely early 1994. When that West Coast run ended he said, Let's drive cross country and go to the big Woodstock 94' concert. Hell yeah! We we're on a roll and having a blast. And by this time we had a big crew of people that we're hanging w/ us and seeing shows. So we drove up through Idaho and tripped out w/ some wild people, crossed the country and saw GD shows at The Palace in Michigan. Finally got to NY. We posted up on my folks porch and partied for days. My Mom loved Ripper. We gave her a pot plant that was in car. Somehow we managed to keep it alive and watered it while driving cross country. We did all the Giants Stadium shows. Then Ripper went up to Mass to meet his buddies, I stayed in NY and we both went to Woodstock 94' with our friends. Then we met back up in the Bay area later in early Fall. And we hung out all through the mid 90's. I would run into Ripper in San Rafael. Sitting outside New George's. And I once put an add on Craigslist asking if anyone knew where Ripper was? Someone replied that he went back to Mass. and he's involved in a big Grateful Dead fan club or something. Well, I've been out in CA for 30 years and I'm moving back to NY. It's been a good run out here but I need to get back to my roots. And I need to find Ripper so I can pick up where we left off. Or maybe a mellower version of that. Maybe you know him from the Bay Area? Maybe you know him from the Mass. Deadhead scene. Tell him Frankie from NY is looking for him. He'll know. He can contact me at frankcoviello1999@yahoo.com Ciao...

This is a little different than what's usually put here, but I'm looking for bluegrass musicians or people knowledgeable about bluegrass who would be willing to do a quick interview via zoom. I'm a student working on a project talking specifically about the banjo but also about bluegrass music generally, and as part of it I'm conducting a bunch of interviews with musicians, instrument builders, professors, and music lovers. The end product is gonna be a multimedia thing that will include some video stuff, some written stuff, some photography stuff, and maybe some other stuff who knows. If you'd be interested in doing an interview, know someone who would be interested, or have anything else you wanna tell/ask me about please feel free to PM me or comment on this
