30 days of the dead

as much as I want to, I can not enter the contest today or download the song, I have tried every avenue available that I know of and nothing, the song plays, (could it be the best and longest Sugaree ever?), but nothing when you click on the enter or download button. Anyway, the answer today is.........., this is a good one.

Links not working. Some people still use IE these days. Also, can't post comments: Not everyone uses Facebook!

IE9. I'm not very happy with the 30 days comment setup...I can't comment without logging in to Facebook... I just downloaded Firefox and the downloading/contest entry system works fine with it. Thanks for helping.

Download link and/or contect link not working as of 5:15PST

I cannot get the download OR contest link to react at all. The "hand" comes up in IE and FF. But clicking either link produces no result, not even a 404 error or "pop-up" to "saves this as a file". Just a mysterious pause and "done".

the 30 Days of Dead doesn't show as a thread, never mind download;threads are not updating, though new posts are showing if you go directly there; problems logging in; 400% enlargement when I get dead.net to load Unless the almanac and stores are working it is a bummer of a time for these glitches.

Where are the Taper Sections for the first 3 weeks in October

Thanks for the November 30 Days feature. It works fine for me, except it ties me in to Facebook. Can you recover the links to all the Taper Sections for October 2012?

the chat room.....

hello folks, my problem is this: when i go to the chatroom, all i see is a large blank white screen with a smaller white screen below that says, "enter your message here" and who's online. i can type in the message box and actually see what i'm typing, but when i hit "submit", the message disappears from my view. i have been told by reliable sources :) that they can see my messages, but i can't. i have windows 7 with IE. thanks for any help. p.s. i am using the links from the forum "topic and suggestions chat room" and www.dead.net/chat and on neither can i see messages from me or anyone else. i hope it's not something super simple either, 'cause if it is, i'm gonna quit using a computer and go back to paper and pencil.

Chat room woes

I am also having the problem Slo had mentioned. For a while now, it was working ok, but the last few days, when I go to post into chat, it just goes to nowhere. Nor can I see any other posts. Hopefully we can get it fixed so chat will again be active. At this rate, I may have to resort to doing my job!!! -Dave

Can access everything but my account

Can access everything but my account maybe I am Dead? :) Keeps getting stranger and stranger... OK, If I click on the link in a posting I can get to My Account but clicking on the menu link gets a null return... Windows 7, Chrome btw

The line is busted, the last one I saw

Better on Mobile, But Still Not Quite Right

On my Nexus 7 (running Chrome on Jellybean 4.2.2), the Newsletter and Who's Online boxes are positioned correctly, which is to say that they appear to the right of the page content, rather than on top of it. The only problem I'm having with this device is the entire page width doesn't display, and I have to scroll from side to side because zooming (pinch/unpinch) seems to be disabled.

30 Trips usb blues

How am I supposed to convert 24 bit Flac files to wav files that I can play in my truck cd player?? My pc will play the 24 bit wav files, but I can't burn a cd for a cd player. Do I need to modify the flac or can I change the wav ?

I don't know the answer to your question. But, if I were in your situation I would first ask wjonjd, then I would post my question to the 30 Trips thread. Finally, I might do some simple experimentation with Audacity to see if I could get something to work. Hope this helps.

Wilfordtjones is correct. The "Audacity" software program can make the necessary format conversions to allow you to burn cd's of these files. Send me PM if you are still in need of assistance in making these conversions.

30 Days of Dead not working correctly?

I can't get the 30th day to download. The link leads to https://sos2208.akamaized.net/download/rhino/gdead/30days/undefined/day… which than says "File not found" I tried to download all 30 days in one download but it is giving me 30 Days of Dead 2016 instead of 2017. On my PC, Win10, using Chrome. Have also tried Opera and Firefox.

Hey! I can't seem to get…

Hey! I can't seem to get the chat to work. I log in, but when I select "chat" from the drop down under my avatar, the page removed my avatar and says I must be logged in to use chat. If I click anywhere else, I reappear and am logged in. Seems like only the chat page is thinking I'm not logged in when I am.

Drop down menu frustrations

I can’t click any links in the store on the main bar. I click store get the drop down menu but can’t navigate anywhere

...please let me know what browser/computer/whatever you're using so I can steer the tech folks in the right direction. And if it's not still happening, all the better. Sometimes things just go weird for a bit but find their way back home...

For some reason when the new site switched over my username and password carried over and I can sign in to post. However every time I try and look at my account or profile to change my picture or update information it shows a temporary error message that says:

Temporarily Unavailable
The website that you're trying to reach is having technical difficulties and is currently unavailable.

We are aware of the issue and are working hard to fix it. Thank you for your patience.

Any ideas? This happens on my phone and laptop.

This has been an issue for a very long time. The site doesn't recognize my password, and when I request a new password, it sends a link to my email address. I click on that, and I get a 'sorry, we're having technical difficulties' response and 'we're working on it' - so, i've never been able to comment (ever) :( Can you please help me solve this issue once and for all? thanks. I am using chrome right now, but I have the same problem with microsoft edge...

With some luck, that information you provided there may prove valuable to the the people (person? hamster?) behind the wheel here as they (she? it?) try to resolve the problem and prevent as many future ones. (Maybe it looks fine from their end because they don't have accounts at the site they're responsible for maintaining???)

I just found the jam for this week at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, and I started playing it. Then I did a little browsing, and when i tried to find it again I couldn't find my way back to it, so you can bet I am not turning it off until I have listened to the whole thing, which isn't such a bad thing to do in a motel in Wichita. And I am grateful for it, despite the difficulties. I'm not telling anyone what to do, but I wish folks would calm down a little before they go off on their rants. Maybe someone is doing all this for very little and we should just do our best to keep looking for things with patience. Box of Rain just started after China Cat/Rider. Nice, nice. I should add to the above, "Maybe you'll find direction around some corner where it's been waiting to meet you." That sure seems to be how it was for this jam with me this week. Thanks.

Has JotW been written off already?

We're now at day 5 since a new Jam Of The Week ought to have been posted. Still rocking the 2-4-2/10 Jam, now on 2/15. While I'm at it, the on Features page the main link, top and center of the page, points to a stale Taper's Section? It's pointing to 2/7-2/13, last week's selections. The new one has now been available for two days. Is anyone actually devoted to maintaining this site, as their primary responsibility? Or does someone just patch things up when marye brings them to their attention? I mean seriously. We have to *tell* you that your site is stale? We have to *tell* you that you haven't got Jam Of The Week up? Does nobody there actually browse the site??? Sorry to be so harsh, but I am actually curious what resources are devoted to site maintenance here. There's definitely an issue with staff levels or competencies. And whoever's in charge ought to have been shown the door ages ago. [mandatory_pander] But, of course, all the gracious goodies are appreciated, yadda, yadda... [/mandatory_pander]
