    The solarized picture ended
The solarized picture ended making Jerry's mouth look weird, it's true.

it may be an optical illusion...
...or something only I'm seeing, but Jerry's lips look abnormally large on the top left picture in the cover art above. The St. Stephen on this show is very good with Jerry *almost* nailing the intro. It's too bad they never come back for the reprise...

Is truly amazing on this box set. I hope it wins another Emmy or whatever. Agree with wtj, it would have been great if they finished St. Stephen in the usual place, after Not Fade Away. No bridge from Stephen to Sugar Magnolia? Not the likely reason. Still, it is an excellent sequence in what would have been post-drums in latter years: St. Stephen>Iko Iko>NFA>Sugar Magnolia. Personally, I always craved Iko out of space when it was played in the early 80s a handful of times.

Thanks for another great release!! I really love having these special boxed sets to go with the music. The accompanying booklets with documentation, like reprints of newspaper reviews (some are hysterically funny) are a lot of fun to have. I did notice what appears to be an error (not a typo) in Blair Jackson's account of the show on May 15. He says, about Estimated->Eyes, "but the one that opens the second set in St. Louis marks the first instance the two songs were joined..." But, unless I'm mistaken, the show in Boston on May 7th has an Estimated->Eyes, and I'm not even sure that one is the first. Maybe he meant the first one on an official release? No matter, I always very much enjoy Blair's contributions to the releases - please keep it up!!! Now, onto those early 80's releases just around the corner ....... :)

Regarding the statement above: The first type II Estimated Prophet with segue into another song didn't happen until 5/9/77. Therefore, this is the first Estimated Prophet to be jammed into Eyes of the World. The performance from 5/7/77 included an extended pause for tuning up between the two songs.

All the more reason it'd be nice to have the tapes from Wednesday, May 4th 1977 thru Monday May 9th 1977! That's quite the interesting bit of trivia re: Buffalo...into The Other One no less!

My God this box set is just humming with good vibes. The entire 3rd disc of this 5-15 show just blows me away. I agree with wjonjd that they should have an early 80 release next. Lets see that 8 show run at Radio City Music Hall '80! That'd be nice, I love all those acoustic openers.

Well, the 15th is the only show that I have not listened to yet. This has been a very well done set I love how you can hear every little bit of the percussion. We are very fortunte to have this hi quality music with the Dead at top of their game,
