    Good idea grizzly
I agree with you on the Garcia postage stamp. They could release it in a series of 4 different images to avoid arguments over the young thin Garcia vs. the older larger Garcia. If I remember correctly, that happened with Elvis? Has the postal service been releasing new stamps since the announcement of their financial woes?

    Postage stamp for Jerry
I think it's high time that the Post Office issue a stamp to honor the contributions to American music and culture made by Jerry Garcia. We all know now that addiction is a disease...Jerry never hurt anyone but himself. There have been plenty of stamps issued for folks who were addicts and/or alcoholics...Elvis, Miles Davis, Bing Crosby..who not only was alcoholic but regularly beat his wife and children, Billy Holliday, Joseph Cotten, Judy Garland, Spencer Tracy...the list goes on. maybe this could be the place where people gather to share ideas about who to contact. Jerry was a major talent, and had a huge impact on millions of Americans, even now after he's gone. Anybody got any ideas?

I agree. And at least 4 separate images would be a great idea too. They could make an even bigger profit margin if they kept the price the same as the forever stamps, but only made the stamps the size of tabs. A true collector's item. Completely lickable, of course.{%};))......not the self-adhesive type. Oddly enough, from what I could find, if you want to suggest something or complain to the US Postal Service, you need to write a letter and send it - with appropriate postage - to DC as "phone and email options are limited". Who would've guessed ?!!! Still, a great idea. **Or, a mailing of a colorful and artistic envelope with your suggestions to: US Postal Service Office of the Consumer Advocate 475 L'Enfant SW, RM 4012 Washington DC, 20260-2200 ...might just be the ticket. (the branch "to respond to consumer needs and requests")

I have Garcia stamps from Lithuania maybe? late 1980's vintage. US wont get it together. It takes an act of congress to decide on a stamp.

I have an uncut sheet of Jerry stamps from Tanzania (thanks trish). They're about 15-20 years old.
